This is a bit of a touchy subject, but I need an application that can send out the same e-mail to a list of people (for the newsletter). Does anyone know of a good, simple one? It is important that it sends out one e-mail per subscriber and not just BCC's it to everyone.
Perhaps a mod of the Broadcast Email plugin?

I've used this software for a few years for a soccer league I help run. It works very well and has lots of capabilities that I haven't even tapped into.
If you want I will give you the mailer I wrote that we've been using in several projects.
It's serving 250.000+ addresses currently so I guess it will do for you. 
Nothing required except for the mail() function, I use it with mysql tables but I think it will work without.
Oh, and this script also takes over the registering/unregistering of users of course.

I spent quite a while optimizing it here and there and I know it's some work.
The one mentioned by eslayter costs money it seems.
Don't know if that's worthwhile for what you plan to you - but then again that's none of my business

Since it runs on Win***** only it's not interesting for me anyway.
What would be interesting is an extension to punBB that allows using the Db for Newsletters.
Would that be an idea?
Users just go to their profile to subscribe/unsuscribe... or does it exist already?
The free version is restricted to 100 recipients at a time. Couldn't that prove to be a pain?

Forget that, its got a 200 receiptient limit.
I have not used it in a production environment, but PHPList http://tincan.co.uk/phplist seems to get some good writeups. Its software requirement seems similar to PunBB, and its also open source with no limit upon recipient numbers, etc.
I am unsure how easy it is to integrate with PunBB (querying the user table) though. It would be cool to integrate it into the PunBB register.php and profile.php files.
