Movabletype and PunBB

Hey,

I see this discussion has been brought up before, but nothing has ever come of it. Before I started to progress on this on my own, I was wondering if there has been any new developments. We just recently switched from phpBB to punBB.

With phpBB we had the option to use phpBBs posting system instead of Movabletype's which would allow us to have two threads with the same posts going. One on the Individual archive, and one on the Forum.

We'd like to do something similar with punBB, but keep the existing posting systems for both inplace (instead of hacking one to support both - it was too messy) and have each post system write to both databases so that all posts are in sync.

Can this be done? Is anyone willing to take this on? If you are, I should be able to help compensate, email me off list with your requirements and examples of previous work.
