They use PunBB for their forum, I think this is a great recommendation for PunBB 
If somebody has time on his hands maybe he could update some information for PunBB...
Andi of DokuWiki put up the ForumMatrix site.
With all the experience Andi has doing the Forum and Wiki matrix sites with customized PunBB installs, I was surprised that he went with UNB for his own support forum.
Go figure?
Well, the comparison isn't fully correct I must say. For almost all of those features that are 'not available', there are mods.
They are talking about out-of-the box forum. Mods aren't officialy supported...
For some stuff they say "Patch". Like PMs. So apparently they ARE supported =/

According to that Matrix thing, PunBB can suspend, ban and ban IP's for users. What is a suspension? I've never noticed anything anywhere to suspend someone. Just ban and IP ban.

ahaha. Suspend would be a cool function though. I frequent the Penny Arcade Forums and the mods there have an ability to "jail" someone. It changes their avatar and strips their posts of BBCode so they can't do pics and other stuff. Would be neat if PunBB someday did that...I was secretly hoping that the "suspension" that the "Matrix" (ahaha..couldn't resist) listed was something similar.

But who to code it? If I knew enough php, then I would be all over it, but that's not me

The tooltip for suspension reads "Can user be suspended from accessing the board for some time?". PunBB supports time-limited bans so I figured it was the same thing.
I've changed some of the things available as mods to "Patch". However, not all attributes have that option. I've contacted Andi about this.
For punBB it says groups: one group only. But version 1.2 has support for multiple user groups right? or did they mean another type of group than user groups?
You can only be in one group at a time, and I guess that's what they mean. Ofcourse, there are mods for it, but...
