Topic: Error message when I install

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this sort of install of PHP forum.  I have used ASP, but not PHP.  I need some help from all of your professionals here!

I'm receiving this message when I try install on my site:

(PunBB reported: Unable to connect to MySQL and select database. MySQL reported: Lost connection to MySQL server during query)

I have tried to use the localhost option plus entering my IP & Port too.  My hosting company uses these two setups for MySQL: Standard & Improved.

Do any of you have any suggestions?  If I need to post more info that would help. please let me know! smile

maybe the mysql is down?
try contacting your host

Like viperxx said, that's a MySQL issue: you'll need to contact your host and see what they say
