Hi, trying to make the switch from PHPBB ...

I'd like to run a portal on my Punbb also ...

What Mods do you guys think would be useful for my site ?
What are the mods you prefer ?

Of course, I saw the PM mod and Attach mod ... played around with some BBcode mods too, but I'm not sure wich one to choose.

Well yeah I know ... but let say I want a portal, what are the options ? And what's the best one in your opinion ?
And what are your favorite mods ?

I know I'll use the Attachment Mod and PM Mod ...
And I'm kinda lost in all the BBcodes mods ...

Portal? http://wiki.punres.org/Miniportal or http://sourceforge.net/projects/puntal depending on how "advanced" you want to go tongue
Favorite mods? I don't really have any, I like a lot of them tongue

Well ... the basic stuff ... I like the Easy Bbcode mode, but it's missing the colors ...
And the Color Menu mod isn't that great.

Well, there aren't any other mods that do what either of those mods do (unless I'm not thinking of something tongue)
And what's basic to you is different from what's basic to me: I'm used to using PunBB, unmodded (mostly) tongue

There's a mod called PunToolbar (either on Punres or the mods section of PunBB.fr I think) that might suit your needs better for BBCode & color selection.

Can someone explain to me the difference between the Easy_BBCode developped by Rickard and this PunToolbar?

I believe Rickard's doesn't have a color selector.

I just got back to the BBCode thingie, it seems that it's not too easy for me.
The PunToolbar eadme file says that one must have the version 1.3 before trying the 1.4 and it asks for many files and..I got dizzy!

Any small words about BBCode will be appreciated!

I guess the author just copy/pasted those lines and didn't bother to properly count: just follow the steps in order

Download a copy of your files, make a dump of the database (perhaps using the Database management plugin)
