Q
here a company that customizes thumbdrives......
http://www.memorysuppliers.com/cuusbfld … OAodxwXEEw
get the punbb logo printed on it....

I think at least a 128mb stick would be needed.
Looking at my WinXP stack:
Apache: 15,298kb - minus the manual
MySQL: 28,157kb
PHP: 21,821kb
Total: 65,276kb
That'll leave plenty of room for your apps and database growth.
Looking at the prices, 128mb sticks are going for anywhere from $12 to $15 dollars.
Add in our time and effort, $49.95 out the door plus shipping and handling.
I'll get the ZedFiles division working on it right away
Now, now, we were all Newbies at one point.
Still off topic: I'm not trying to make fun of anyone. I felt it safe to guess that the op has, at best, built-in ZIP support from WinXP and maybe not be able to make use of the linked file without additional effort.
winrar..
or 7-zip
either one will do ......
Q
hey hcgtv..
now what would be kewl would be.. the forum db be hosted somewhere on the web and files be local..... so that each person could run punbb from there own desktop.. but requires internet access....

Using SQLite would lighten that load significantly.
guardian34, I know you weren't making fun, I just wish we'd all Google more often.
quaker, I think a local host would be better for everything, there are people with limited connectivity.
pogenwurst, good point, worth checking out.
I did some research and there doesn't appear to be too many people working on USB AMP stacks, so I'm going to go out and get a 1GB Sandisk Cruzer USB drive and start playing around.
off the path.. but does anyone know of a opensource calendar program that can sync with outlook or sunbird from a www calendar?

Have a look at PHP iCalendar: http://phpicalendar.net/
Sunbird supports the iCal standard, so it should work.

Just picked up 3 1GB PNY USB drives for $39.99 after rebates at the local Comp-USA.
Now to play

I know of webservers for USB drives
And you can just make an autorun.ini file execute a batch file starting the server
