Topic: Error Installing

Hey guys, please help me. I tried installing PunBB and I got the following error message:

An error occured on line 58 in file /home/content/g/r/u/grupoinsignia/html/forums/include/dblayer/mysql.php.

PunBB reported: Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

Any ideas?

Make sure you're using the right address for your MySQL server: some hosts don't use localhost. If in doubt, ask them

Is there any way I can check the address of MySQL server? Would it be in the control panel?

Ok, just got it to work!!! xD
The only problem now is that after I have installed PunBB and created the config.php, when I click on the link to go to my forum's address all I get is a blank page...

You have an error in your config.php file: make sure to save it as plain text wink

Looks like your config.php file got a little corrupted ;)

I used TextEdit (notepad) and saved it as a php file. How can I go about uncorrupting it?

Double check that it's actually saved as a plain text file smile

Could the problem be in the database prefix? Can I leave that part blank?
