header issues- frustrated

Hello guys. I have been working on my forum (http://www.thethinkinghat.com/forum) and I can't seem to get my header the way I want. All I want to do is add in my "header" here http://thethinkinghat.com/test to my forum. I have tried editing the main.tpl and I don't know what to really do. I have been able to change the background color to match the rest of my site. Just can't figure out how to get the header working.
