Yes, but 1.3 hasn't been released for testing yet, especially not at the level of converting the charset

Re: PunBB 1.3 Preview

You can see it in the trac browsing source app.

Re: PunBB 1.3 Preview

It's here: http://dev.punbb.org/browser/branches/p … dev/upload

Find the XHTML and CSS surce in it. However, it's not a definitive styling code the dev have said.

Re: PunBB 1.3 Preview

Nice! I look forward to upgrade my good old punBB install smile

Is there any estimation of the 1.3 release date?

Re: PunBB 1.3 Preview

We have the same kind of talk on the Debian forums, everybody wonders when Etch will become stable.

I run Etch on my home server but I still run Sarge on the VPS that hosts my live web sites. I'm in no particular hurry to see Etch come out cause I want it to be solid and stable. I don't think any developer group holds back software if there wasn't a good reason for a delay.

I run PunBB 1.3 on my home server, I can see many exciting things in it but I also see some exciting things coming. Etch is frozen, as in no new features are being added, PunBB is still being added to, there's a list of tickets that reads like a Christmas list.

Soon, the Elfs will be done with their work, in due time smile

To answer your question though, you need to run the db_update.php script when upgrading a forum.

And the error when i click on upgrade: Fatal error: Call to undefined method DBLayer::table_exists() in C:\Documents and Settings\Hemen.GHADERI\Desktop\dc\www\punbb\db_update.php on line 120 sad

As I said, I'd suggest you stick with 1.2. That being said, you need to ensure that you have replaced all of your files with their updated copies:

Bott how can i replace them?

grudon66: do remember this is work and progress and no support is available so if you have problems you are on your own.

Re: PunBB 1.3 Preview

Not to be rude or anything, but I really hope 1.3 is never release...

All my mods... so much work would be needed (I'm guessing) to reintegrate them... ohh the pain XD

Re: PunBB 1.3 Preview

Well, it's not like the code will be locked or anything wink
And I bet you should be able to write a readme to extension tool (it'd be sodding hard, but possible) big_smile

Re: PunBB 1.3 Preview

Meh, I'd consider doing a diff 2 extention... once I get the guts to look at 1.3 tongue readme 2 diff would be tuff though... not impossible though

How would you go about writing one? tongue

Re: PunBB 1.3 Preview

No idea, but I'm sure it's possible in some odd way =P

I doubt it very much tongue

Re: PunBB 1.3 Preview

Connorhd, and Smartys are just trying to drive that "i own joe" part of our brains insane, so that one of us ends up writing 50,000 lines of php to do it XD They know it's possible, they just want to bug us so the we end up doing it instead of them tongue

No, honestly, unless you write a script that can understand excatly what a mod does from the readme (you can't) and then write a new script using that knowledge but using hooks, you can't do it tongue
