I have installed PunnBB at http://homehouseinspections.com/ I notice that I have turn off my "Zone alarm Security Suite" to post a message.
How do I get my PunnBB to work so users do not have turn off there security fire wall to post a message on my Forums.

i would check YOUR firewall settings to make sure they aren't set too high.

Indeed, that's the issue I believe (assuming you're getting Bad HTTP Referer messages). That's a paranoid "privacy" setting you need to disable in Zonealarm
If that all it is. Could you all give it a try and post a message on it.
I can post message here at this PunnBB.org with Zone Alarm is turned on.
But when I try post a message on my PunnBB I cannot unless
Zone Alarm is turned off.
That's because only admins/moderators are subject to that security check. However, like I said, you do not need to disable all of Zonealarm to fix this: you simply need to enable sending your referrer
What or how do you enable sending your referrer.

here you can download a port check here portcheck.exe it is a XAMPP PortCheck v1.2 but it will work for all computers & servers
Ports aren't the issue here
ummmm.. a simply fix.. uninstall that pc of junk software ! you know they collect infotmation about ur pc and stuff .....
if you got a router with nat and a simple windows firewall.. why do u want to slow down ur pc......
i dont get spammed or hack because i keep things simple enough it dont matter .......

With that NAT/Firewall you cannot control outgoing traffic.
NAT does everything a regular firewall does, just less annoying and better.
ZoneAlarm is an annoying piece of junk. I do remember the time when ZoneAlarm Pro could be activated with a key consisting purely out of 0's tho

Yes, NAT can't do what a firewall can do but it does a good enough job that you don't need a firewall.
nat+firewall= router+xp.....lol....i use sometime a network monitor to see what all using traffic...
and i can block stuff... but it doesnt get on ur nerves like ZA..... i got a copy from my old corp job..... hehe..

Ok thank you soonotes I was worried that someone with any type of fire wall software on there computer might not be able to post a message. I have zone alarm and I could register but not post a message and there people who register but did not post a message just wanted to check it.
I think this forum (PunBB) might me the best software
