Topic: Upload installation challenge.

I did this:
Installation
Copy/upload all contents of the directory upload/ into the directory where you want to run your forums.
Run install.php from the forum root directory (e.g. open http://mydomain/myforums/install.php in your browser). Follow the instructions.
Please report any problems you might encounter during installation in the PunBB.org Support Forums.

And get this:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.fishhawkforum.com Port 80

Any ideas?  Not a good start sad

You upload the CONTENTS of the upload/ directory to where you want your forum, you don't upload the folder itself (unless you want to).

The 403 is a server thing, probably related to not having an index page in the root of your site and directory listing being disallowed

Thanks for the quick response.  Ok, I dumped the folder, re-uploaded just the contents. Installed a index page and still get the same when trying to run the install.php

Err, where did you upload the files to?

I got is straight.  Like all good panic attacks it's usally operator error. I had sent it to the main domain host file. The PHP index file overwrote the html index.  It's up and running now.  Thanks for your help...I look forward to contributing to the forum. smile
