Hi Smartys,

Run the update script in the extras folder.

I have only replaced the two files manually. Should I run the update script to update the version number in the admin area?

I've still not dared to touch the code...
Could someone please help me out?

Which parts from register.php and profile.php have to be removed?

Hello,

could someone tell me, which parts from register.php and profile.php have to be removed?
I don't want to mess up the code or edit the wrong parts.

Hi Smartys,

Hi elbekko,

thanks for the answer.
The Problem is that i'm not able to optimize the table "Online" due to that behavior.

What would you suggest to do?

Hello,

I've spotted a strange warning in table "Online":
http://www.wechselbass.de/punbb.jpg

It says: The index-types INDEX and UNIQUE should not be set  for Column "user_id" at the same time.

I'm not a MySQL-Pro at all. Perhaps that's normal?

If not, how can I fix the problem?

Tom

Hello,

i've got a strange problem with my german language-file.
I want to change the title "Member" to "Mitglied".
I've changed the entry in my common.php

// Title
'Title'                    =>    'Titel',
'Member' => 'Mitglied', // GRUNDEINSTELLUNG TITEL
'Moderator'                =>    'Moderator',
'Administrator'            =>    'Administrator',
'Banned'                =>    'Gesperrt',
'Guest'                    =>    'Gast',

"Banned" is correctly replaced by "Gesperrt", but "Member" is still "Member".

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Greetings
Tom

Thank you very very much Smarty

Thanks

Hi Smartys,

thanks a lot.
Hmm, I think robots.txt is the right thing for me.
Would it be possible for you to tell me what to write into robots.txt if I want tell the search engines not to index all of my site?
And where should I place that file? In the root directory of my punbb installation?

Thanks
Tom

Hello everybody,

is it possible to prevent Search Engines to index my punbb-forum?
How can I make sure that nothing from the forum content will be indexed?

All the best
Tom

Hello,

I have added a miniportal to my forum and used connorhd's description (http://wiki.punres.org/Miniportal)
It works very fine, thanks connorhd.

But...

I want the sidebars only on my frontpage. So I have copied the content of main.tpl and header.php and created new files named main_index.tpl and head_index.php.

main_index.tpl and head_index.php are now according to connorhd's description.
main.tpl and head.php are the original ones.

The index.php includes now main_index.tpl and head_index.php

It works well, now I have the sidebar only on the frontpage and the forum is without them.

My questions are now:
Is there a simpler way to do that?
Would you suggest another way to do that?
Do I corrupt any functionallity in punbb wiht my method?

Sorry if my questions are stupid. I'm very new to php and programming at all.

Greetings
Tom

Hello,

the user of my forum are allowed to write in turkish and in german. So I have to deal with a lot of special characters.
I live in Germany and on my Browser all characters are displayed correct. (Encoding seems to be ISO-8859-1)
But I have no possibility to check whether the characters on an turkish system are also displayed correct.

How can I figure that out?

Greetings
Tom
