So i am new to this stuff and was wondering how do i enable or use ssl with punbb? i dont really understand, my punbb doesnt have ssl enabled or even comes with it. I am trying to use gmail for smtp and when i do i the error
Unable to send e-mail. Please contact the forum administrator with the following error message reported by the SMTP server: "530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first l27sm13089645rvb ".
so i went around and read this forum http://punbb.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=14179
but then i got this error.
Could not connect to smtp host "smtp.gmail.com:587" (72) (Unable to find the socket transport "ssl" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP?).
i tried reading many forums and searching and couldnt find out how to use ssl with punbb i also read this
http://punbb.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=6249 but didnt help me very much, ive spent well over 3 hours searchign all night to fix this and can't so im hoping for someone to help me with this. Maybe i dont understand this enough, but what is ssl is it something you have to install yourself or enable or does it come with punbb.
