Thank you!  Third time of reseting the browser cache was the charm.  I read that Safari is prone for retaining stuff in cache even after resets. In any event it worked. Thanks for a great forum.

I searched and found the way to change the heading "Announcement" in the lang/english/common.php file.

I changed the code as follows:

// Miscellaneous
'Announcement'            =>    'Sponsors',

Uploaded the updated common.php file and the word "Announcement" is still there.  I want it to read "Sponors" as it contains a banner ad.

Am I missing something else?

Thanks.

Thanks for your time, I'll work on finding "a bit of common sense" roll

I have read every post I could find on adding a image header. None seem complete or either assume the user knows more than I do.  I would appreciate a step by step method for adding a image header. From the number of post on this topic it seems popular enough to warrant such a guide.  IMHO it should start with and include the following:
1. Image size how many pixels?  Height x Width Limits. What is necessary if anything to make the image auto adjust?
2. What do I save the file as? File name? Jpg, PNG, GIF etc...
3. Where do I upload the image to?
4. What modifications to I make to the required files?  What are the file names and where are they located?  How is this accomplished? Text Editor?
5. Are there any limits, do's or don'ts for image headers?
6.  Is css the only way to accomplish this or can it be added into the html?
7.  How to make the image header transparent so you can still see the heading and comments?

Just a start....but a few questions that I have yet to find answers to in one place. If this exists please point me in the right direction. Thanks!

I got is straight.  Like all good panic attacks it's usally operator error. I had sent it to the main domain host file. The PHP index file overwrote the html index.  It's up and running now.  Thanks for your help...I look forward to contributing to the forum. smile

Thanks for the quick response.  Ok, I dumped the folder, re-uploaded just the contents. Installed a index page and still get the same when trying to run the install.php

I did this:
Installation
Copy/upload all contents of the directory upload/ into the directory where you want to run your forums.
Run install.php from the forum root directory (e.g. open http://mydomain/myforums/install.php in your browser). Follow the instructions.
Please report any problems you might encounter during installation in the PunBB.org Support Forums.

And get this:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.fishhawkforum.com Port 80

Any ideas?  Not a good start sad
