I want to add a Search in Forum box at the top in the viewforum page of each forum. Any help would be kindly appreciated. Thanks.

I have uploaded all the files. It still gives the error for each of that code in echo.

echo '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="'.$lang_common['lang_encoding'].'"?>'."\n";
    echo '<?xml-stylesheet type="text/css" href="'.$forumuri.'style/feeds/rss.css"?>'."\n";
    echo '<rss version="2.0" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom">'."\n\n";
    echo '<channel>'."\n";
    echo '<title>'.pun_htmlspecialchars($pun_config['o_board_title']).'</title>'."\n";
    echo '<link>'.$forumuri.'</link>'."\n";
    echo '<description>'.pun_htmlspecialchars($pun_config['o_board_title']).'</description>'."\n";
    echo '<language>'.$language.'</language>'."\n";
    echo '<docs>http://backend.userland.com/rss</docs>'."\n";
    echo '<atom:link href="'.$atomdir.basename($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']).$add.'" rel="self" type="application/rss+xml"/>'."\n";
    echo '<ttl>60</ttl>'."\n\n";
echo '<?xml-stylesheet type="text/css" href="'.$forumuri.'style/feeds/rss.css"?>'."\n";

AdsBB, it says that the zip file of this MOD is corrupted and cannot be opened. I tried this link: http://adsbb.com/download/image_upload.zip . Please provide a working zip file. Thanks.

Goundoulf, your rss mod solves the line break problem in alex's mod but it introduces a new problem. All the html code in the punbb posts like youtube video embed code, img src, ahref link codes etc. gets shownonly as code in your generated rss feed not as actual videos, or photos or links like it does for alex's mod. Can you please modify and add full html code support? Thanks.

I have modified this mod to suite our site. I use <[CDATA! -tags and plain html instead of the "encode_xml($data)"-solution.

The feed is on our frontpage at http://www.nolltid.se/
This is the rss.php code: http://www.nolltid.se/rss.zip

Cal, I see your forum rss feed works nicely with proper link breaks and html display. The above rss.zip url is broken. Can you please give us another url to download your rss.zip so that we can use it? I am so much in need of it. Thanks.

I have a line break problem with this Alex's mod. I have trying to find a solution for the last 24 hours but nothing till now. Please help.

<description>".encode_xml($data)."</description>

The above code displays all the html perfectly in the RSS feed including flash objects, img src, ahref links etc. which is great. But all the post content is jumbled up in a big paragraph i.e. it strips out all the line breaks in the posts. I tried the changes suggested in this topic but they lead to another problem. The line breaks are displayed but then all the html appears only in the post body as code and does not display the flash objects, photos etc. Alex says he has modified to support the formatting but he has not published an update. I know the solution must be simple but I don't know what it is. Please help!

I tried extern.php?action=new&show=50 but it shows only the titles of the first 50 posts not the content. I want the full html post content in the RSS feed. I want full support for html and line breaks in the RSS feed. How can I do this? Please help. Also I could not find a RSS feed mod which does this effectively. Thanks.

Matt, I want the guests to also see the Thanks given. smile

Thanks. I mean it does not show that below the post itself like the Thank You mods for vB and Phpbb do. One has to go to the reputation page to see it. And people would not not even know that the poster's reputation was increased for the post they are reading unless they check the reputation page which is a diversion while browsing the viewtopics.

The reputation mod is not exactly useful or the same like the thank you mod because it does not show who has thanked you for a specific post. Thank you is much more personal way to say it than just increasing the reputation of another user by some points which is quite abstract.

Thanks so much Matt. Please can you add Thank You for each post. Then it would be perfect. A topic has many posts with different authors and point of views. It would be great to show our appreciation individually to each of those authors who give valuable input.

Yes, please let guests say thank you also.

Thanks. How to install it?

I personally like the narrow-height topic rows on the viewforum for PunBB. This is quite unique to PunBB. Less scrolling and quick view of all the topics on a viewforum page. smile

Thanks Matt. Most of the forum visitors are readers who don't post often. So I guess they will still go to the viewforum pages to read the stickies and topic names. Please let me know what do I add in the index.php and where for this when you have the time to do so.

Thanks so much Matt. Both the Vb and Phpbb Thank You mods have Thank You for each post not just first post but I think they don't have Thank You link for Guests. I think Thank You link for Guests also would be great as Guests can also anonymously show their appreciation to the posters.

One thing for this is that it should add minimum queries to the viewtopic page since it has many posts.  vB Thanks mod is Ajax without page load but since PunBB is so fast, a page load on clicking Thank You would be as instant as ajax. So it would not matter imo. smile

Can you give some rough ETA for this?

I do. I am logged in as Admin.

Greetings. Apart from the new features, will the code of PunBB 1.3 will be even more optmized or clean than 1.2.16? I see the page loading times (speed) are almost the same. Please enlighten on what are exactly the core changes in 1.3 in terms of code, optimization, database queries etc? Was 1.3 was coded from scratch again? I tried to search on the forum about this but could not find a relevant topic.

Also will PunBb 1.2x be supported for many more years to come as I like it a lot? Thanks.

I have eAc installed but still it shows N/A. I wondered about it.

I can't find the link to edit the title of a posted topic. When I click on edit for the first post of the topic, I don't see the field to edit the topic title. Please help. Thanks.

I want to kindly request a ThankYou MOD for PunBB. There should be a html "Thank you" link below each post. Guests, Members, Mods and Admins (all) should be able to click those thank you links below each post if they like the post and want to show their appreciation. If Guests click the link for a post, it should show below that post: "X Guest(s) say(s): Thank you." X is the number of guests who have clicked thanks for that particular post. And if members or mods or admin click the Thank you link, it should show their names, "Username1, Username2... say(s): Thank you." where username1, username2 etc. are the usernames of the logged in members who click thank you for that post.

Both vBulletin and Phpbb have a Thank You mod and I found previously that it is greatly used by the forum members. It was one of the most popular MODs I had. They normally don't want to type a reply to a post but still they say thank you on so many posts. It is very encouraging to the posters also and promotes more participation and gives a community feeling. Can anyone kindly design this MOD? Thank you.

On the viewtopic page at the bottom of each topic, I want it to display the list of forum member usernames and (if possible) number of guests who have already viewed the topic. This is very encouraging for the topic starter and repliers and gives everyone a fair idea of who is following the topic. Can anyone kindly make this MOD? Thanks. A similar mod exists for vBulletin.

Greetings. I want a Next and Prev link above each viewtopic below the links navbar to go to the next or prev topic by date directly from the topic page like my blog pages. I am moving to PunBB from WordPress and this one thing which I am missing. A way to read each topic one by one by date. Anyone can quickly a small MOD for this. Thanks.

Greetings. I very often need to post new topics in different forums on my forum. But this is a two step process which sometimes is discouraging. I need to first click the forum link on the forums home and then click on Post new topic on the extreme right on the viewforum page. I want a post new topic icon or link on the right of each forum link on the forum main page. Please help on how to do this.

Also please help me on how to add a Post new topic link next to Post reply on the viewtopic page on the extreme right. Thanks in advance.
