http://sn0n.com
http://www.sn0n.com

it cant differentiate the two..
i used it as http://sn0n.com/punboard at first... but then i tried to do a admin thing.. and it told me the base url was incorrect.. changed it and it worked fine.. but IMO it should 'predict' the difference..

not really a bug per se.. just a minor annoyance?

I havent seen any forums using this method.. but it works for me without problems..
like www.sn0n.com and its aim icon on the main page.. implementing something like that.. anyone know why forums dont use that method?

i tried installing gentoo a few weeks ago and was scurred off by the fstab and lilo configs... that and the kernel compile scurred me for a min too. then i back tracked a min then did the visual and installed anything.. lol.. anyways.. back on topic..

just download slackware. ;-)
(or current slackware from http://slackware.no )
and install that.. its IMHO the best dirsto.. and there hasnt been a thing i couldnt get working after a './configure' 'make' 'make install'
just my two cents

str_replace the file name maybe? replacing ' ' with '%20'
so it will still show up as a 'space'
this isnt tested.. just a thought.. hehe..

Bah, so got slackware installed, full install.
Set the httpd.conf file to the right perameters. I have mod_php, mod_sql. Added the "AddType application/x-httpd-php .php" to my httpd.conf file. Now, Im not sure if I have to do this, but when I type this command in terminal "$ php start". I get this: "Content-type: text/html
X-Powred-By: PHP/4.3.1

PHP Fatal error: Unkown(): Unable to start Unkown on line 0"

What does this mean?

Well.. for starters.. im thinkin it has to do with your adding that line.. if you do a find of the httpd.conf for php.. down almost to the bottom you will see a commented out include for the mod_php.conf i think it is.. cant remember EXACTLY.. but look into that.. (unless your problem is allready solved)

i use slackware religiously... and never had a problem with php or apache on it. (And yea.. i format alot)  :-x
