trying to get support here.

Is it a meaning of your life? big_smile
My question was about what result do you are you trying to get from your PunBB installation?
Do you want to have a "blank at the bottom of topic page"?
What exactly should it be (how large and s.o.) and how do you try to do it (edit style/CSS)?

Please, describe your problem in details:
1. What are you trying to do?
2. What are you expecting as a result?
3. What do you get in fact?
4. How to reproduce this?

If you give a link, please tell where should we look at.
The links above say nothing to me as I do not speak Chinese and I have nothing to compare the page with to say whether it is OK or not.

i don't see you guys in the long term maintaining two sets of completely separate software that perform duplicate functionality (with a similar name), especially when that software isn't commercial.  it just doesn't make sense.

The PunBB.PHP and PunBB.NET devteams do not intersect, having different members (though we sit in one room now :-)).
So they will not interfere each others' development.

Regarding the "completely separate software that perform duplicate functionality": ASP.NET and PHP are different Universes having separate markets, so that PunBB will be present in both ones from now.

Compare this to the CMS/Blogging engines for .NET and PHP - they do not intersect. Wordpress is a leader in PHP-world, but it is not a good choice for ASP.NET server and s.o.

how many developers will you have working on Punbb and Punbb.net? And will some developers work across both development versions?

See http://punbb.informer.com/wiki/development_team for current state of the Team. No changes planned for now.
2 developers have started to work on PunBB.NET for some period time ago. Feel free to join them :-)

Utchin wrote:

ASP.NET skills differ from PHP development, so there will be not much work across two branches.
Personally I've worked just a little with .NET several years ago and I'm not going to look into the PunBB.NET sources. Though I think that these projects will help each other to become more popular across the web.

One of the extensions has an error in co_modify_url_scheme hook.
Please, try to disable them one by one to find out which one is incorrect.

And what URL-scheme do you use at the Forum?

Maybe first one? To make $forum_page['user_ident'] customizable. Could you please remove it.

Could you please describe in details for us: what are the difficulties to make it RTL?

Try just

        location /punbb/ {
            if (!-f $request_filename) {
                rewrite . /punbb/rewrite.php last;
            }
        }

Please, report if it works :-)

Maybe this example will be helpful: http://www.dokuwiki.org/rewrite

But I found Oxygen.css in changed file list (1.3.1 to 1.3.2), so my question is shall I keep or need to change anything ?
Its working fine for me....

Look at 1.3.1 to 1.3.2 hdiff and consider porting the CSS-changes manually.

un_repository always shows error... try later something like that...
Is is normal ?

Probably not.
Report the issue details in 1.3 extensions forum please.

Check this please:
1. Correct path to the DB is set in config.php.
2. DB file is present at the path defined in 1.
3. The file is writable by web-servers' user (0777 mode or file owner is set to web-server's user).

Report again please, if the issue is still present. Or even send us a zip-archive of your forum files be email to reproduce.

My 0.02 on this is that forking PunBB at this phase will only work to make neither PunBB or FluxBB very useful.

Agree.

Casemon wrote:

It's already confusing what belongs to which, etc.

We hope there is less confusion since PunBB 1.3 final release.

Casemon wrote:

I wish the FluxBB devs would instead work with PunBB devs to make PunBB even better.

Forking seemed to be a great fun for some community members. Looking at the results in half a year, I'd say it was not really useful for both communities. Though I understand former PunBB devs: Rickard's left and they didn't know much about new PunBB owners (and why should they care about owners' needs).

PunBB is an open project, so FluxBB devs are free to join (and we've never forced anyone to fork/leave). Nevertheless, I don't think they would like to: this is kind of religious beliefs. Though these beliefs could be overstepped to get better result. I even don't mean that current PunBB devs (including me) are really good enough, but I think we've proved (and ensured ourselves) that we can lead the project, provide the support and keep up development activity.

Hypothetical joining of FluxBB and PunBB community would now mostly be useful in view of less confusion for users and more community activity: language packs, styles and extensions development.

FluxBB development now is like walking the infinite path to the unreachable ideal. Paul has reworked his markup several times and is going on now, though even the first version was good enough (Paul is really cool) to release 1.3. Same with features: too much changes has been started for 1.3 and there is still too few planning/projecting for them. PunBB/FluxBB 1.3 is a halfstep to something 2.0. The ideas of 1.3 should be better projected and require other techniques than PunBB 1.2. So that 1.3 should be released as soon as possible to fix what has been done.

PunBB 2.0 is planned to be an adequate implementation of the same 1.3 ideas, but simpler/easier/faster/less featured.

Thanks for the giving me the reason to express these thoughts :-)

Do you have mod_rewrite installed/enabled? Looks like PunBB's .htaccess does nothing for you.

We did notice this too, but had no time to investigate this deeply (before 1.3).
We will pay time to this now and report you the results/explanation.

Looks like you've removed the extension directory, but didn't uninstall extension before this.
Disable the extension in database (set "disabled" to 1) or define FORUM_DISABLE_HOOKS in config.php.

I will try to.

Extension.

Looks very interesting. Never seen Bengali before :-)

BTW, the "(বাংলা ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ প্যাক)" in the title of my Firefox window (under XP) displayed as squares. Though it is OK in the page source.
