Yes it does, sorry it's lacking documentation at the moment being a beta release. I hope to start putting something together soon however. I'm just not sure what's the best way of going about it yet.

OK here it is, the fruit of hours of studing PunBB's code:
SELECT t.id AS tid, t.subject, f.id AS fid, f.forum_name, u.username, u.id AS uid, p.id AS pid, p.poster_id, FROM_UNIXTIME(p.posted,'%b %d, %Y at %T') as post_time FROM punbb_topics t, punbb_forums f, punbb_users u, punbb_posts p, punbb_forum_perms fp WHERE (fp.forum_id!=f.id AND fp.group_id=3) AND p.id=t.last_post_id AND u.id=p.poster_id AND t.forum_id=f.id AND t.moved_to IS NULL ORDER BY t.last_post DESC LIMIT 15
Hopefully it's right, I don't think I have missed anything out but only time will tell.

I still can't get my head round this it's so confusing!
Could someone explain in psudeo how one would go about filtering out hidden forums from a query?

Thanks for the help Superfane and Connorhd it's exactly what I need and your discription of how the permissions work Superfane ties together a few things I have found out and I understand how the system works now.
I'll get to work on this as soon as I get home and let you know how it went.
Thanks again
Chris

Re: Logicfury (Lightweight CMS) and PunBB (64 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 modifications, plugins and integrations)
Connor, I'm going through the code but it takes time to digest. It's also not the most interesting of task, esp as I don't use punBB and take into consideration that most people only code things that they need or use it's not at the top of my todo list and so dedicating time to it is quite hard. A little help from somone who already knows the system would really be appreciated.
Rod, I can see what your saying but it is off-topic. If I had been asking what path do you think I should take, bridge my CMS with punbb or make it part of punBB then yes it would be quite on-topic. As I said before my CMS's pupose is not to link with punBB but to have the option therefore your suggestion is not viable.
I can see the chances of me getting any help are pretty slim which is a shame as I don't really have the time to go through all the code as I have many things to code. I'll put the punBB work on hold for now which is a shame as I really would have liked to get a release that supported punBB out today. My lack of understanding of how the permissions system is stored and processed in the database really is the only thing holding me back.

Can you not discuss this elsewhere? I asked a question that has now been pushed to the previous page which now no one will see. I'm having a job finding out how punBB uses permissions for topics and this off-topic cross talking isn't helping. You don't like what I'm trying to do fine, I understand that but please have the decency to not take over a topic for your own discussions.
Thanks you.

Re: Logicfury (Lightweight CMS) and PunBB (64 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 modifications, plugins and integrations)
The disadvantage? Tying users down to one forum software. LogicFury can currently interface with phpBB or punBB, the advatage? A bigger userbase resulting in more modifications and a better system.
LogicFury is stand alone software, it will in time come with it's own forums and gallery but will always give users the choice to use what they wish. If you had looked into this more you would see that I am not creating a CMS for punBB but simply one created that can interface with punBB for those that wish to use both.
Of course no one is stopping you from creating your own portal from phpBB .

Topic: Logicfury CMS PunBB Theme (1 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 modifications, plugins and integrations)
I couldn't resist making a PunBB theme for Logicfury as I had some spare time on my hands. I would like to know what you think about this theme, are there any improvements you would like to see?

Hmm ok, can someone enlighten me as to how you set this up in the admin pane or better still where this info is stored in the db. Since the bug reports have stopped coming in (there were not too many anyway) I have had time to work on supporting punBB. Everything is done now and I shall be writing some inscructions for using LogicFury with punBB today. I think LogicFury's pretty close to the 0.5 release but I'll wait a bit longer. I will be releasing a pre-release with punBB support though and it would be really great if someone could test it.
As I'm sure Rickard knows things always work great on your own machine, it's not till others come to try them that you find you have a few bugs to fix
By the way if you want a good example of what this CMS is capable of look at http://lostheaven.co.uk.

OK I'm working on the punBB side of things now, just porting a few blocks and that however I have come across something confusing. I can't fnid a variable for private forums. Ones with permissions for certain groups like admins.
Does punBB not support forum permissions?
Thanks,
Deus

Re: Logicfury (Lightweight CMS) and PunBB (64 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 modifications, plugins and integrations)
Don't worry, PunBB support will be included in the 0.5 Public release. In fact I'm going to be working on the punBB support today.
Your quite right there is a mod for PM support in punBB, I have known about it for sometime, however if I was to make punBB the default I wouldn't be very fair to require everyone to install that mod just to use PM's.

That sounds great, thanks for your offer of help
As for translations I have just realised that I havn't included multiple language support, that's going to be a pain to add

Re: Logicfury (Lightweight CMS) and PunBB (64 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 modifications, plugins and integrations)
It seems pretty nice only it looks a little like one of those CMS's that hold your hand so to speak. Prefer something that assumes a user knows what a website is

Re: Logicfury (Lightweight CMS) and PunBB (64 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 modifications, plugins and integrations)
OK Rickard
Yeah the forum is already implmented, I just have to convert a few things that are phpBB specific at the moment. If there's enough demand for this I'll put it at the top of my todo list as at the moment I'm concentrating on other things like a survey module.
Glad you like though .
I don't suppose anyone is interested in making a punBB sytle skin for it? I guess I could do it but I really should be working on the code not playing with themes .
If anyone want's a go with it just ask and I'll send you a copy.

Ohh sorry, I didn't realise there was such a thing lol.
Sorry I don't have an example of Logicfury and PunBB working together, You can imagine what it would look like though, exactly the same as it does now but clicking on forums would take you to a punBB instead

Re: Logicfury (Lightweight CMS) and PunBB (64 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 modifications, plugins and integrations)
Like I said, it came down to one thing PunBB's lack of PM system.
A PM system could be supported in such a way that it has no impact in the forums speed and could be disabled by those who don't want it. All 0.1% of you Anyway that's another topic, one that has been discussed and will continue to be discussed here. I'm just explaining why it's not the default forum.
However, I like PunBB PM system or no PM system and will continue to support it with my CMS.

Re: Logicfury (Lightweight CMS) and PunBB (64 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 modifications, plugins and integrations)
Just thought I'd make an update incase anyone is interested (tumbleween rolls past....).
I have a pre-release version of Logicfury 0.5 ready for those that ask for it. I have opted to go with phpBB as the default forums due to lack of PM support however I have also included support for punBB. The login is bridged and I will soon be porting the blocks to work with punBB.

Re: PunBB 1.2 (142 replies, posted in News)
OK Connorhd then we have reached an agreement. I was under the impression your were against the whole PM idea but now I understand your only aginst it being built-in and that's fair enough, afterall if you have no use for a PM system why would you want it built in?
I like this sound of this mod system being developed that allows simple installtion of mods. My vision of PunBB in the future is a customisable forum. You make the package you want via chosing options you want when you download it. Now that would be something!
That's the way I'd like to see PunBB swing anyway. Choice is a good thing and you can never have too much of it

OK D9r understood, thanks for taking the time to clarify that.
As for regards my sig. Thank you, as regards my site. What site? There's nothing there yet but will be soon. Just wanted to get some bugs ironed out of my CMS before releasing it.

Re: PunBB 1.2 (142 replies, posted in News)
Connorhd I must say your a bit reluctant to consider other's opinions. A good comment is one that address's the issue from both points of view.
Bwongars point is perfectly valid and I can't really add much to it. Users could use email Connerhd but given the option they prefer PM's.
PM's are not a replacement for emails and vice vesa
