Congratulations!

What Linux distro? If you're using Ubuntu/Kubuntu, visit this link.

Edit: I'm so sorry, I didn't notice you said Slackware. Try this link instead.

I have noticed some forum members are into SEO, so I decided to make this pretty simple extension that allows you to edit some meta tags relevant to SEO.

You can modify the meta tags on Administration » Settings » Setup

If you find any bugs or have any tips, please post them here.

Updates

  • 1.1 (current): Applied some fixes. Thanks to parpalak.

  • 1.0: First release

It seems your .php files are not being processed by PHP. Are you using Windows?

Well, PunBB 1.3 has a completely different markup...

Anyways, nobody is forcing you to use 1.3, you can still use 1.2. As long as you use PunBB, we're happpy smile

I'm sorry, but that style is meant to be used only on PunBB 1.2.

What PunBB version? Is that style meant to work for that specific version?

As far as I know, extensions that are not on http://punbb.informer.com/extensions/, but are on http://punbb.informer.com/svn/extensions/trunk/, are under development.

Edit: Try this.

Install this extension: http://garciat.us.to/code/punbb/small_login.zip

The topic's info (posts, user's info, etc.) is loaded after header.php is included into the script, and, because the description meta tag is in header.php, I don't think we can fetch any information from the topic and add it to the meta tag.

Note: I could be wrong, so wait for the big guys to post what they think.

Edit: Try this.

I can make a really simple extension that removes the default meta description tag.

I have also managed to create an extension that forces guests to log in.

If you're interested, let me know.

I think it's something about unknown characters going through some special process on the db update. I've read something about that somewhere on the forum.

You need the new language packs for PunBB 1.3.

This is as far as I could go with only making a 'login.tpl':

http://garciat.us.to/forums/login/

If you want your forum to look that way, let me know.

Windows XP SP3
Firefox 3.0.3

It no longer happens, btw.

Good job smile

I think the dev team is aware of this db_update issue.

Thank you, Garciat.

I think we should include these changes in the forum core (in 1.3.1, for example). Anatoly?

You definitely should, as it seems not every server allows the use of glob().
