This might not be considered as bug, but rather a strange behaviour. At least thats my opinion.

I posted a link recently this way:

[url=http://www.dn.se/DNet/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=1298&a=511671&previousRenderType=6]KRÖNIKA: Rika bilförare är de verkliga vinnarna (www.dn.se)[/url]

And it becomes this way:
KRÖNIKA: Rika bilförare är de verkliga vinnarna ([url=http://www.dn.se]www.dn.se)[/url]

Notice that the short URL becomes an own url in the title of the long one. Two in one that is.

My opinion is that any text between the url tags (if it's written to be title like above) should be just that; a title. It should not be able to be parsed as an url itself.

Well, the world may have bigger problems than this, but I thought it could be worth mentioning anyway.

I had a similar problem. I used two domains for my site www.keffatliv.ath.cx and keffatliv.ath.cx.
The problem was that when using www.keffatliv.ath.cx the keffatliv.ath.cx cookie were read but the www.keffatliv.ath.cx were written to.

So a user who had logged in using keffatliv.ath.cx could not log out using www.keffatliv.ath.cx. The solution was to redirect www.keffatliv.ath.cx to keffatliv.ath.cx.

You should have set the cookie_domain in config.php to .keffatliv.ath.cx

Jora: Assuming you're talking about http://synpeople.com/, you should set your cookie_domain to .synpeople.com

chrizz: Assuming you're talking about http://www.garaget.org/, you should set your cookie_domain to .garaget.org

If I suddenly change this, it means that no one longer can log out... not that good idea I guess.

It happends quite often that users have issues logging out from the forum. It's basicly Internet Explorer that hangs up and does not remove the cookie. Is this a problem with punBB, or have it been in older punbb versions?

The only solution I know to this is to remove the cookie manually.

Any ideas?

Why is it like that?

is not interpreted when you make an author search and choose "Show results as posts"

Like this: http://punbb.org/forums/search.php?search_id=2018877764

edit: same with normal search, but with "Show results as posts".

Something like "Status: Active" or "Status: Active moderator" or in the case of banned "Status: Banned" (doh! ;) in User activity on the first page (don't know if thats the proper translation, but "användaraktivitet" in the swedish version). I don't think it's important to display the actual title if the user has a personal title, or if the default ones are not used in the forum (The personal title, if any, still can be found under "Personal info.").

There is no way for moderator/admin to see if a user is banned via user profile. There should be some sort of user status anyway I think, like the "Member, moderator" or personal signature, or "banned" in case of that.

edit: Like "Title: ..." for everyone else wink

It seems like he/she/it have not succeded to send to everyone, but probably at least a couple of thousands.. sad

With spam i mean he sent e-mail to all the users... He probably have a script wich goes through every profile and sends an email with the form... every spam is sent with MY mailserver with my sender, wich sucks even more!

How do I prevent this from happening again? The user is now banned, but he still have sent spam to all the users in my forum (13000!)

Im so pissed of right now! sad

Varför måste man översätta det?

Löst med: header('Cache-Control: post-check=0, pre-check=0');

Mvh Christian

I take it the kind of situation you want to avoid is where a member leaves a board somewhat acrimoniously and decides to delete all their threads before they leave thus wiping out hundreds of useful posts.

Thats right.

Or possibly where they don't understand the warning about the whole thread being deleted.

Wouldn't it actually be better just to make what you suggest the default behaviour and not provide an option for deleting threads at all i.e. make the only option that of deleting individual posts but disable it for the first post in a thread unless it is the only post.

Admin have now two options for the users; 1. enable users to delete own threads including all posts in that therad, and (2) to not allow it at all.

My suggestion is to add an option that allows users to delete own threads if and only if there are no other posts in that thread. This enables users to change their mind... If someone posts a thread in the wrong forum they can delete it and post it right instead of creating a new thread and whait for moderator to delete the old one.

What do you think?

Paul, try your last suggestion with the pages in the middle between "Prev page" and "next page" ...

A solution for the problem with Turck MMcache is to set:

mmcache.optimizer="0"

in php.ini

(4 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 bug reports)

Version     2.4.6-10
Caching Enabled     true
Optimizer Enabled     true
Memory Size     16,777,180 Bytes
Memory Available     15,239,012 Bytes
Memory Allocated     1,538,168 Bytes
Cached Scripts     29
Removed Scripts     0
Cached Keys     0

On a not running server (dev-server), but still the same problem there.

System:
Debian Sarge 3.1 (Testing)
Installed: Turck mmcache

Problem:
searching for words that should display message "No topics found" gives purely blank page.

Solution
Uninstall mmcache, then it works fine.

I had this problem on two different servers

Is there a known reason for why this happens? Is there a solution? I still want to use mmcache...

No, a search for "alkjghadgjh" gives a blank page... purely blank, nothing else.

http://www.garaget.org/forum/search.php … rch=Skicka

Should give "no threads found" or something.. but instead i'ts just blank. If a search contains something that DOES exists, the result is shown like this:

http://www.garaget.org/forum/search.php … 1643073470

What could be wrong?
