i suppose you need 2 bits of information for it 1. the number of votes and 2. the average score
then what you do when someone posts is read the average and the number times the average by the number add the new vote add one to the total and divde by the new title
you could also have the same 2 fields for the user so that you can see a users average rating across all their posts
nah cos i install to different places i host/help make sites for alot of people i know and recently have been setting up punbb on all of them
probably the biggest set of IPs any punbb board has ever had to deal with
i would have thought this would be more of a mod thing
well its just me being lazy and not wanting to type localhost when i want to install punbb 
because any of that can be posted in general and theres not enough people who are going to use the site to need lots of categories, the only one i might make is announcements
well host is most likely to be localhost i said maybe for root as username i know its less likely but the forum location should pretty much alway be where the install file is
dunno if this has already been suggested but...
Make the install script a little more helpful e.g. have localhost entered as host, maybe root as username punbb_ as prefix and make it detect the folder its in for the forum location
well i would make it white but i'm too lazy and this is one of the default css files and it fits ok and its only a small clan site why have more forums?

looks nice but why would you want to make a nice looking forum like punbb look like invision? just my opinion
e.g. if you are a moderator(or admin) you can press moderate topic at the bottom and a checkbox appears next to each post you can then check the posts you want to move to a new topic or delete them. that way you only choose the offtopic posts you could also have move all topics after the first seletected post to a new topic
The reason i suggested a moderate topic button is sometimes you want to split a topic into 2 topics if after a certain point the posts go offtopic or the topic just gets to big
i think the problem is that if the time is before the topic where does the post go? before the first post? to the end? ...

i dunno if this has been mentioned before i tried searching for it but post gets alot of search hits anyway the post count does not go down when posts are deleted? dunno if this is a bug or is intentional
lol forget the gallery just put large versions of the pictures 
i suppose if you move to another topic rather than to a new topic it would have to be added to the end of the topic and the timestamp reset to the current time
maybe there should be like a moderate topic button allowing you to check posts and with selected: delete, move like the moderator forum button dunno if this goes against keeping it simple but its a simple way of implementing that idea i think
yeh streched can look really odd on a big moniter
yeh i thought about just having it on the homepage but then i made it so small it fits on all the forum pages, currently working on making news in the frontpage i saw the news from a forum mod but i think i'll add a new news thing, and making a who is online thing sorta like the phpnuke one with people on the site. what i have done so far is make a menu which is generated the same way the top one is with admin button rules button etc made a login box/logout button and when you login you get redirected to the page you were on. I might make the links on the menu a mysql table and make an admin or i might leave it so you have to edit the html. if anyone has any idea/suggestions/problems please tell me 
looks nice but would it be better with a 100% table so it resizes to the browser or at least being centred
Well if people like it and i get a nice looking homepage and menu working fully i'll post the code i added for everyone
www.mirc-chat.net using punbb as a base and atm i am expanding it using the forum php to make my entire site basically the forum and use the forum themes/users/admin etc
