Don't want to kill this but...
Why would you ever want this, if you want to run punbb on your site, you almost certainly want to upload it to some kind of webhost, or if you just want to test punbb on your local system you probably know what you're doing and just want to install it :\

I think it'll probably work with any ?: removed and the backreference numbers changed to compensate, i'll look into it

I'm not sure that we want people to report 1.3 bugs yet, however... could you give us some server details? most importantly what version of apache?

Well, theres lots of styles on http://www.punres.org/ some of them might be useful for inspiration, as for the layout of the style sheets, there are the main stylesheets for example Oxygen.css and then the color scheme to go with it for example oxygen_cs.css (in imports) so if you want to change colors you want the _cs file and for layout/design its the not _cs file

No (at least not with the default install). Please start searching before posting feature requests, this has been discussed before.

This isn't related to PunBB at all, that is your server

I think what he means is when he puts a . after a URL punbb should not include the . in the URL

http://punbb.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=2658 its a sticky and its in the documentation with PunBB

Then don't put a . when you type the url in?

PunBB wasn't written as it is now directly, its a process which is built up, start simple and add stuff

Well it would probably be an easy mod, but i'm not going to write it, as i said, it has been dealt with in 1.3 so as far as its concerned as a feature request, its not a problem.

Try reuploading?

Moved, not really PunBB discussion.

1. No, this has been discussed many times.

2. Admin does have language files in 1.3 so no point in adding this feature.

In PHP, you can also write 'else if' (in two words) and the behavior would be identical to the one of 'elseif' (in a single word). The syntactic meaning is slightly different (if you're familiar with C, this is the same behavior) but the bottom line is that both would result in exactly the same behavior.

Let me try to clear this up a bit,

PMs and Polls will NOT be included in PunBB 1.3

PunBB 1.3 will have an extension system to make installing mods easier. This will mean the major mods can be installed by simply uploading files and clicking install, no file editing is needed.

Not all mods will be able to use the extension system, some of the more obscure ones may still require files to be manually edited.

Not all mods will be upgraded for 1.3 when 1.3 comes out, however all the major ones should be, (PM and Poll will almost certainly be).

Mods should be able to upgrade from their 1.2 version to 1.3, however, this is down to the mod author so we can't guarantee it, since I am the author of the PM mod, I can say it will be able to upgrade from 1.2.

Hope that helps.

I'm glad you brought up "Swenglish". I was actually planning on blogging about this, but I guess I'll write it down here instead. One thing in particular regarding Swenglish that annoys the hell out of me, is how Swedes have a tendency to confuse the letter v for w. Pretty much every day I hear someone on Swedish television pronounce MTV as MTWE, Windows Vista as Windows Wista or Eurovision as Eurowision. I throw up a little in my mouth every time I hear someone say it. I have no idea where this comes from. The letter W wasn't even properly included in the Swedish alphabet until earlier this year (going from 28 to 29 letters). I guess one potential cause for the confusion is the fact that the English translation of many Swedish words have v swapped out with w:

Vete -> Wheat
Vi -> We
Sverige -> Sweden

I don't know. Still bugs me though.

Lots of people who speak english as an additional language swap Vs and Ws I find. One thing I must say though, I am always extremely impressed with your english, I am sure it is better than mine wink

This is a 1.3 feature, its not yet released.

What is the advantage of this, the profile settings are already split up, splitting them more would surely be confusing?
