will this be fixed in a hotfix?

This is to fix the problem where users keep getting logged out.

http://www.domain.com/forum shows users logged in (correct)
http://domain.com/forum shows users logged out even though they are logged in

So I would like to set up my server somehow to permanently redirect http://domain.com to http://www.domain.com and that will fix the problem for me.

Is this possible and can someone help me do it?
Thanks smile

Sounds FUN!

You mean it will pre-download linked pages so that they load instantly?

Does version 1.2 still create stickies when you add a favourite topic?
I'm very excited to hear that you are working on more extensions

General point:
Your karma extension creates 2 more lines of vertical space.
In 1.2 I managed to tweak the output of the karma mod so that it didn't use up any extra vertical lines.

The karma was places next to the post count like this:
Post 150 / Karma 22

And the "vote up" and "vote down" options were placed next to the quote/edit options. That way there is no extra vertical space created and therefore a neater design with less scrolling.

Any thoughts on that?

Here are my thoughts on vertical space in general with screengrabs:

In my opinion users should be able to add as many extensions as they want  It's their choice.
But there should be some new extension section. Now we have: Official extensions and Unofficial extensions. There should be something between: Approved extensions, where only aprooved by PunBB developers extensions can be listed.

Agreed!

The below topic mentions a mod was created for 1.2 that allowed users to login to punbb using their facebook login details. It involved API keys etc.
See here:

Any enthusiasm for this with 1.3?
I definitely think this would boost my own forum activity

Hi rich
The problem has fixed itself in the new version. Thanks smile

REQUEST:
Admin can manually type a karma figure in for a user. I often run competitions where the prize is 25 karma points. It would therefore be nice if I could just type the  new karma score in manually rather than clicking 25 times. Also, my 200+ users have karma scores written down from punbb 1.2. I want to reinstate their old karma scores but this would be very tough to do if I have to click vote up lots of times smile

Also I have installed the ePM extension but can't see where to access the features.
Any clues?

after installing ekarma and viewing viewtopic.php I get this error:

An error was encountered

The error occurred on line 297 in /home/mark4321/public_html/forum/viewtopic.php

Database reported: Unknown column 'u.karmacustom' in 'field list' (Errno: 1054).

Please elaborate. I'm interested to hear why you think this would be useful. Just interested in your thoughts

there's got to be a middle way between the two?

There is. It's called extensions.
If there is a feature you want, write an extension (or request one) and you can then fill your forum up with as many extensions as you like.

Did some posts get deleted from this topic?
Someone replied with a good idea and I followed up.

Hmmm. The suggestion was that it would be good if the favourite topics did NOT appear like stickies at the top of the forum list but were instead accessed by a link in the profile just like the current subscription topics are viewed. That would be much better for me.

And then, based on forum activity, it would be good if the following links/lists were available:
- most favourited today
- most favourited this week
- most favourited this month
- most favourited this year
- most favourited all time

Something along those lines ???

I need to choose a differen font face/style/colour.
How can I achieve this please?
Thanks smile

It would by nice if user can find his favorite topics through a further link in profile too when the "Favorite topic" is installed? What do you think about that idea?

I love that idea.
I would rather NOT have the favourite topics appear with the stickies. They just get in the way there. But it would be much better (in my opinion) if your favourite topics could be saved.

Our forum members often are sad that we post so many excellent topics but they get lost in the archives. So  if we were able to see our favourite topics listed right from our profile page that would be FAB-UL-OUS !!!!!

Any chance of that?
The sticky favourite topics just get in the way really.

Edit: I read it again. You mean new forum with most frequently favorite topics. It can be done, but I'll need to think about it.

Yes that's the one. Sounds good to me.
It does need some thinking about though

This is a very nice extension. I've installed it straight away at www.eRoyton.co.uk/forum
Can you take it a step further and use this extension to create a "most popular" topics forum. So that only the topics which have been "favourited" the most times are listed in a special separate forum?

Or perhaps another similar idea that achieves the same result?
Thanks for the extension release smile

Any further clues with this Garciat?

Looks nice.
Please post again in this topic if you release the final version (I've subscribed to this topic)

I would like this extension to work even if I have disabled user-editing of posts. I basically ONLY want my users to edit their typos in the first 60 seconds after their post and after that NEVER allowed to edit their posts.
