That seems to have fixed it woop woop!!
But people stay logged for days and days and days so that means none of those options relate to logging people out.... but my problem is apparently fixed so obviously it DOES relate somehow !?

But those figures have nothing to do with logging people out. People are being logged out and they have to enter their user/pass again.

Will try that though smile

visit timeout 180
online timeout 179
redirect wait 0

Those are the only time related entries in the setup page. There is nothing relating to logging out after x seconds.

settings > setup doesn't have any option for logging people out.

My users are typing replies in the reply box but when they click submit they find they've been logged out completely and their post is lost.

This is not good at all
Any further tips please?
ThankS
Mark

I've got some unhappy users at the moment.
I upgraded to 1.3.4 yesterday and my users have been complaining since then that they are being logged out after a very short period of inactivity.

Any tips please?
Thanks
Mark
p.s. this is not affecting me as an admin

Is it possible to have enabled only the registration approval? (and the posting approval disabled)

This is exactly what I want to achieve.
I'm spending all of my day approving individual posts sad

I still like this idea 1.5 years later.
Has anything similar been made?

p.s. works perfectly in Internet Explorer.

I have latest version of firefox. Some of my
forum members are reporting the same thing.

Also, it is 100% unusable for iPhone. It won't even let me click inside the textbox to make a post.

Has great potential but currently unusable for my forum.

Hmm, well I'll keep using it and see if it magically fixes the problem on its own.
Do you think it could be a setting on my host server?

Thanks for a very nice extension. It works OK so far me.
One question though.

When I view my profile after liking one of my topics it says

But I'd much rather it say:

Mark likes [topic_title] on [my_domain]

I've seen this done on another forum so I know it's possible. But how?

Thanks in advance for any tips with this.

All download links are broken in this topic.
Where can I get this extension please? smile

Hopefully someone can offer someone insight.

I thought PunBB was supposed to be lightweight on CPU usage.
My database is 80MB

But those large topics seem to be what are causing the problems.
Any thoughts?

My forum has been slow for a while and I've finally gotten around to asking the host tech support for clues as to why. He says out of over 100 sites on the server mine is the 2nd most CPU hungry.

He copy and pasted the below queries and he says he suspects the problem maybe that I have several large tables. This could make sense because there are some topics on my forum that have over 5000 replies and are steadily growing every day. Those large topics have been the very slowest to open.

Actually, I've now closed those large topics and moved them to a hidden admin forum so that they can't be access. That resulted in a much faster forum BUT it has gone slow again this morning.

Thanks very much for any help offered

this would be great if you could make the description appear when a user mouseover the topic link. I don't want the description to take up any vertical space you see.

Can this be done?

Will this show the latest active topics from all sub forums?

I'd like to do this also.
I know how to do a file include but it doesn't work when I try to include a php file into my main.tpl file.  Is that where I'm going wrong?

I had to do it through cpanel & phpmyadmin
