Yes I think. It was just something like a joke.
I do not know why he do not put it on punres.

go to admin, then options, then you have 'avatars'. Put what you want.

I would be quite happy to meet some forum regulars.

I'm still running version 1.1.5 on a site I publish and am leary to upgrade due to the nightmares I anticipate existing with any upgrade (at least that has been my past experience with otther web based apps).

Any guidelines for doing the upgrade and is it really necessary if all is running ok so far?

If you have corrected the problem explaned here http://punbb.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=6460 I think you can safely go on using 1.1.5

If you want to upgrade to 1.2.6 and if you have no mod installed, you're likely not to have problems.

You must first upgrade from 1.1.5 to 1.2 http://punbb.org/download/museum/punbb-1.2.zip

Then you'll be able to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.2.6 http://punbb.org/download/punbb-1.2.6.zip

There is really no reason it does not work. To be really careful, I suggest you to make a backup of your database and of your files.

Hi,

Is it possible for a user with cookies disabled to still login and use PunBB?

I do not know if it's the best but you can have a look at

http://www.phpwebgallery.net

I'm using it without problems. Moreover, The creator of this gallery takes model on punbb, hosted by textdrive...

It does not seem to be a big problem. The essential is that you have the selected language.
I think it's just alphabetical order. If you do not want to have this, juste delete english language.

Edit: I've tested and I do not have the same problem. I do not know where the problem comes from.

Ludo,

Great work!
I think the multilanguage should be by default in punbb. It will help the script become more popular and it will not be bloat.
I've read a few weeks ago we could have this by default in 1.3
Maybe Rickard can take inspiration in the mod you've build.
If I well understood, we now just have to translate. Maybe we could adapt PunTranslator
Once again great work!

So YOU seem to have a problem with your browser or computer or something else.

When we'll have solved the problem, you will be able to delete my account...

it seems to be a cookie problem.
You must check that your browser accepts cookies.

kiz: The posts unmarked as read problem?

He may want to speak about the way punbb works to marke topic as read. It's not a bug. Just the way punbb works. If needed, a mod exists.

Or it could be a new feature in 1.3: "Subscribe to forum", just like subscribing to a topic you will get a mail each time a new topic is posted in the subscribed forums.
That way you could just subscribe to the "PunBB.org News" forum and get a mail when a new version is released.
I know Rickard is always looking for new features to implement :-)

In my opinion, this could not be as you're saying in 1.3. It seems quite bloat. I mean, sending an e-mail to all forum users from time to time (mailing list) is not the same thing as what you're asking for. The ability for subscribing to the whole forum could be very dangerous for server load. Php is not really done for sending hundreds of e-mails...
What you want could be a mod.

It's just MY opinion. I do not compell anybody to agree with me...

for the header it's simple.

Have a look at main.tpl

Is there a mailing list I can subscribe to to get notified of new PunBB versions and security updates?

Using the rss feed can be a good solution.

BUT, I think a mailing list would be great.

I can imagine it using the plugin 'broadcoast email'. This plugin should just be modified in order to send mails by packets (for exemple 50 mails by minute or something like that). It would avoid time out.

Then, I think in 'profile' we should have the choice to subscribe or not the punbb list.

This is the simplest solution I see.

What do you think about that?

One change in 1.2.6 worth mentioning is changeset 208. What this does is to force files included from templates via the pun_include directive to be in a particular directory. The directory is include/user/. If you've been using pun_include in 1.2.5 or earlier, you will need to make sure that the directory exists and to move all/any included scripts into that directory. If your files are located outside the PunBB directory tree, I recommend that you create symbolic links in the include/user/ directory. The change has been implemented to deal with a potential vulnerability.

Does this mean you had to modify something in order to make the google add go on working on punbb.org?

I saw the doc says

For example, if you wanted to include a script called banner.php at the bottom of all forum pages, you would place the script in include/user/

In 1.2.5 I do not have include/user. I only have include/ but no /user in.
Is user/ created by the upgrade script? Or do I have to create it on my own?

I'll drink to this. I have a cold "Wisconsin Amber" in the crisper door of my fridge. Thanks Rickard for a job well done. Do you have any more future releases in the 1.2.x line or are you going to begin work on 1.3 now?

He has already begun working on 1.3
As 1.2.6 is released, he'll have more time to work on 1.3
Please, I would'nt like to see this question "when will 1.3 be released?....." wink
