Just found out that punBB has the quite impressive google pagerank of 7/10 according to http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php

Other sites with the same rank are: www.aftonbladet.se (swedish evening newspaper) www.dn.se (swedish morning paper).

A really big swedish BB about computers www.sweclockers.com only comes up with a 5...

To explain this i will quote an article i found about the system:

2. Give away something useful

www.phpbb.com has a Toolbar PR of 8/10 (at the time of writing) and it has no big money or marketing behind it! How can this be?

What the group has done is write a very useful bulletin board system that is becoming very popular on many websites. And at the bottom of every page, in every installation, is this HTML code:

    Powered by <a href="http://www.phpbb.com/" target="_blank">phpBB</a>

The administrator of each installation can remove that link, but most don?t because they want to return the favour?

Can you imagine all those millions of pages giving a fraction of a vote to www.phpbb.com? Wow!

    * Principle: Make it worth other people?s while to use your content or tools. If your give-away is good enough other site admins will gladly give you a link back.
    * Principle: it?s probably better to get lots (perhaps thousands) of links from sites with small PR than to spend any time or money desperately trying to get just the one link from a high PR page.

The concept of this site is good for gaining a high page rank! YAY! =P

PunBB also has a lot easier source code to follow and is therefor easier to change. All the functions included in phpBB is available as mods for punBB. Check www.punres.org for more info

isnt there a DB backup mod in punres?

For punBB it says groups: one group only. But version 1.2 has support for multiple user groups right? or did they mean another type of group than user groups?

its more fun to make your own logo, even if it is hard at first and may take a few attempts... when you are happy with the result the page will feel more like your own if you designed it yourself

It would be nice if the heading (adressThatIssue.com) would be a link to the starting page. Now if you for example use the calendar to show posts in february and find that there are no posts that month you have to use the calendar again to go back to the start.

Very harmonic site to look at... and good integration too.

Why do i sometimes get errors like these when surfing my homepage? They don't appear all the time and they disappear again when i refresh the page. The paths are correct, i know that. so why do i get the errors?

I have made some updates. Features now include: a blog with commenting, a quote database, a punbb forum =P, and a complete admin system to control the blog, quotes and that also allows you to create content pages... (displayed under "mer innehåll" on the left under the image)...

also made a more personal banner to the site with me holding a glass of beer big_smile

hope you like it..
