ive seen lots of people asking how to do it, so i thought i would post how to wink

and what needed neatening up on it could i ask?

Lots of people have been asking for mods to be "upgraded" to work on the current version of PunBB. However in most cases there is not really a need to ask for this. All you need to do is:

1. Open install_mod.php
2. Find line 12
3. Add the version of the forum you are using to the version array
4. Save and upload

That's it.

Your version array should then look something like this...

$punbb_versions    = array('1.2.8', '1.2.9', '1.2.10');

go to punres and you will find one smile

if you asked a question in a more polite mannor, and didnt demand stuff of members here, then prehaps you might get an answer you want  (sort of what ludo said earlyer).
people try and help out in this forum as much as they can, but with people demanding things, they dont get helped.

Mark,

The poster is running 1.1.5, when 1.2 was released a year ago.

If he was in a hurry, wouldn't he have done an update already?

i didnt say he was in a hurry to get it done, i just said it could be weeks or months befor 1.3 comes out, but its still up to him if he wants to update to 1.2 or wait for 1.3

I would wait till 1.3 comes out and code your mods with the new extension system.

There aren't that many lightweight forums to pick from.

like reines said, u will need to start your forum all over again.
all mods ect from 1.1.5 will NOT work on 1.2
most of the coding is different from 1.1

open index.php and find

$moderators = "\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t".'<p><em>('.$lang_common['Moderated by'].'</em> '.implode(', ', $moderators).')</p>'."\n";

beofr it add // so it looks like

//$moderators = "\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t".'<p><em>('.$lang_common['Moderated by'].'</em> '.implode(', ', $moderators).')</p>'."\n";
