Yeh that works too, just thought I would share the link smile

Having such a public email address sucks for getting spam sad

http://www.siteup.com/encoder.html

The Encoder will format your E-mail address in a way that IS NOT readable by any E-mail extractor or search engine.  The Encoder is only provided as a way to prevent HTML E-mail harvesters from getting your address from your web pages. If you do not have a web site or do not know what 'HTML' is, the Encoder will not be useful to you.

Great little tool, highly recommended if your sick of spam. Only takes about 10 seconds to get the new code for your site big_smile

Hey,

At our site we are thinking of running an anonymous FTP, where all users may login and download the files we have placed there.

We will require lot of webspace (300Mb +) and obviously a very large bandwidth capability.

Can anyone recommend a good hosting service which is also pretty cheap?

Hopefully you will notice we have intergrated punbb into our main news page - linking to "Users Online" and "Recent Topics".

Thanks for all your help!

I'm boring lol. I just have a plain desktop (no background) and all my programs are hidden in the quick launch thing next to the start menu.

bummer, so an AOL router prohibits the usage of certain browsers?

Yeh but I got used to the AOL one pretty quick. It has some neat features and I prefer it to IE now. Still doesn't beat Mozza though

Its just called "AOL Browser". Its built in to AOL 9.0 - since i am on a network for some reason I cant even us IE or Mozilla. As soon as we installed the router I could only use the AOL browser.

Actually running AOL 9.0 - it's a 2Mb connection.

Thats why I was curious about it being an error with punbb as I didn't think my net connection would cause it.

I have noticed it only happens if I scroll using the mouse-wheel. If I click the actual scrollbar to go down it doesnt happen.

As you can see in the image above sometimes when I scroll the screen the subject of a thread becomes unreadable. When I highlight the link it reads fine.

I run 1.2.4 - Maybe it isn't a punbb error, it could just be my pc or something but just thought I would post and let you know.

I put a basic PHP Poll on my site and set it so people can only vote once.

The first time I voted myself I hadnt set the write permissions to 666/777 so it didn't work. When I corrected the error and tried to vote again it said I had already voted.

I got my flatmate to vote on his PC and it counted his vote. But it had only registered 1 vote to the poll.

Considering my PC said I had already voted it should have said 2 votes.

I am just wanting a few of you to go to the below URL and cast any votes - just so I can see if it works.

Kind Regards in advance.

Sorry if this has been posted before but I would like to tell people about Microsofts latest business-killing venture big_smile

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta … layLang=en

They have released an AntiSpyware product (free to download) that is worth checking out. Offers full system scans, live updates etc. One feature I like is a "network" created between every user who runs the AntiSpyware LiveUpdate. If somebody within the network encounters some new spyware or adware it will inform every other user on the network - telling them how to resolve the problem.

At present it is a beta product, free to download, but in future it will be released as a commercial product so it might be worth just getting the beta version whilst you can.

Again sorry if it has been posted before.

Hi,

I run Punbb 1.2.4 on my site and want to add polls.

Can somebody please point me in the right direction for a polls mod that will work with 1.2.4

I am lame at PHP so if you could provide me with information on how to install (other than what will be included in the readme.txt file) I would be very grateful.

Kind Regards,

Hi all,

Underneath the "Powered by Punbb / Rickard Andersson" copyright notice this forum has ads by Goooooogle big_smile

Well instead of advertisements we would like to add a linked image (once clicked it will take users back to the index.php page of our site)

We presume the alterations are done in footer.php but we are unsure of what the code is.

Can anyone help? Kind Regards, downliner

We at new-york-dolls.com gladly keep the Punbb / Rickard Andersson copyright notice! We love punbb and hope that more people will pick up on it smile

If someone could tell us how to change the text opposite the copyright notice we would be very grateful. Instead of a link to recent messages we would like to have a link to the bands official merchandise distributor. Anyone able to help?

Congrats! Keep up the great work smile

I have redesigned the Dolls official site and hoped someone could give me a hand with what I presume is very simple code. I have an image slideshow in the top right of the page but i want this to be the last thing that the browser tries to load. At the minute it takes a while for the page to load as it is trying to load all 30 images for the slideshow first.

The temp URL is:

http://new-york-dolls.com/temp/index.php

If anyone can help, I'd be grateful. I successfully integrated the "Users Online" and "Recent Topics" in the index page thanks to you guys smile

Sorry for being lame at PHP but can someone explain how to install the PMs for v1.2.4

I have just upgraded from 1.2 to 1.2.4 and have had no previous PM mods installed on my forum.

I do not understand how to change the install_mod.php to work with 1.2.4

Any advice?

Hi,

I have read through the docs (http://punbb.org/docs/dev.html#syndication) that explain how to include recent posts and users online on my websites homepage but I am still a little unsure how to do it - I tried and it messed up sad

Can anyone provide further assisstance in what to do?

Do I just copy:

include('http://new-york-dolls.com/board/extern.php?action=online');

text into my index.html page and rename it index.php? Thats what I tried but it didn't work. I am probably way off the mark here so hopefully someone can help me out.

Heres a little info:

Website URL: www.new-york-dolls.com
Board URL : www.new-york-dolls.com/board/

Can anyone help? Thanks,
