would this post be better in troubleshooting?

if there is no ETA on coppermine 1.4.x, does anyone have an integration file for punbb 1.2.5 that will work with the current coppermine release - i need to get my gallery up asap

If you're guaging how 'active' users are by their number of posts - this is a great script.. but how hard would it be to write a 'karma' system of sorts where users get karma for posting... but lose it if they dont post over a long period of time, so 'active' users have to remain active?

Any ideas?

Can punBB be easily modified so the 'default' timezone is different to the server timezone.

i.e. the server is at GMT +8.00, but I want times to be displayed as GMT +10.00 unless a user is logged in with their own timezone settings.

also: can the setting for people who havn't set their timezone (i.e. have it set as +00 - we're all in australia, so nobody will actually be at GMT), be set to a specific timzone (+10.00) - a 'default' timezone, for new users.

thanks!

Is this mod compatible with Mark Topics as Read (http://punres.org/viewtopic.php?id=321)? Will I need to make any additional changes, I already have MTAR installed. I think this mod makes changes to the same file.

Are there any drawbacks to using this mod?

i kno its not made to 'please the masses'..... but im sure most people woulda gree that it would be nice if topics were marked as read as soon as they were read. --- neway.. im not fussed smile

yea, which part of it?

Is it OK to rename index.php to forum.php, for instance so that I can have everything in the same directory - with my site homepage being index.php. Thanks!

try clearing the cache first, there's a nice plugin that will do this -> http://punbb.org/download/plugins/AP_Clear_Cache.zip

then use

chmod -R 777 cache

to chmod the files, not just the directory

hope this helps! smile

you gotta admit it would be nice smile

and it would bring across more PHPBB users - at the moment some who use it may be reluctant as their old system does this but pun does not. I've come across regardless because phpbb/nuke's code is shit and pun is a much better platform for me to write plugins and integrate with my site - but not all have those motives.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I'll leave it be and wait for an upated version of punBB, this particular mod suggests the timeout_visit be set to a long period of time, which doesn't really suit my site.

Thanks anyway once again!

In the current release of PunBB (1.2.5 at time of writing), topics that you read are not marked as 'read' until either logff/logon or the current 'visit' expires.

Is this a bug - or a problem with my install? I assume its not a 'feature' tongue
