Oh wait.. still one problem. Can I really import a dump like this (all databases)? If so then how? I can't seem to figure it out.

in windows can i run this?

"mysqldump --all-databases > dump.sql"

i don't know how to do. i ran "mysqldump --all-databases" and it took like 2 minutes maybe. i've got not that big databases. but im guessing this dump didn't get anywhere but on my screen? so i added "> dump.sql" and got an 18 mb file. can this be right? it went really fast. is it ready to be imported into another computer?

Yes. I've just installed debian for my first time and I've made a mysql user and stuff. I used mysql on my NT-server earlier and I think I have done it right this time too. But on the other hand I guess not. Or maybe this isn't a mysql-problem?

But I get this error message. Do I need to chmod anything?

I would definately use it. You're not the first to make this mod, but the dude who made it earlier didn't update it for 1.1 so I would be glad if you put this thing up as a mod.

Ok. Har kommit en bit på väg nu. Installerade om hela Debian och nu funkar allt som det ska. Har fått in Apache och det funkar.

Hur gör jag för att exempelvis installera och koppla en databas (sql?) till ett punbb-forum? Hur får jag överhuvudtaget in forumets alla filer i mitt nya operativsystem?

Jajemen. Har tryckt in php4 nu och även lärt mig kommandot ifconfig. Har öppnat port 80 och tror att jag lyckats få in apache, men jag lyckas inte komma åt webservern.

Jag har läst en del på debian.org men det är förjävla krångligt tycker jag. Fick nyss ett tips av en kompis. Drog ner nån netinstall istället och det gick mycket bättre. Nu är jag åtminstone klar med installationen. apt-get install apache har jag kört, men nu är jag fast igen. Hur var när vaa???

Är php automatiskt installerat? Hur fixar jag med sql? Databaser och användare och grejjs?...

Tack, ska kolla på det. Tänkte sätta igång och experimentera på en tom gammal hårddisk nu. Hur var det med ftp förresten? Vad ska jag ha för program  till det?

Finns det nån form av fjärrstyrningsprogram som man kan köra i Debian? Hur går det att dela ut filer och mappar i ett windows-nätverk från en Debian-burk?
