Incidentally what do you reckon is the biggest forum there is on the whole interwebnet?

I won't register just for my own ease - but can users still change the forum colour in their profile?

It seems a shame to have such a nice colour scheme wasted by someone changing their profile

Your best bet is to trawl through the open source ones if you want something thats free.

One of the most popular ones is "OS Commere", which like PunBB, is PHP-based. Theres a readme that comes with it and theres support forums on their website which makes it fairly easy to install if you can manage to install PunBB too.

As with most of the Open Source shopping cart programs, you can change the look of the site to some extent.

It really depends on what you're selling as to what are "needless and complex features" - but OS Commerce looks nice and is easy to navigate. Supports Paypal too.

If that one doesn't appeal to you then as I say just whack "open source shopping cart" into Google and the world is your oyster smile

There's plenty of nice-looking PunBBs, out there, but I think Kennel would agree with me that theres only a few that have really regular posts

How did you do the header graphic then? magic wand?

If your account is a oneandone account, then I'm not sure smtp.1and1.com is correct.

I have a domain ordered from oneandone.co.uk and the FAQ shows that the SMTP is "auth.smtp.oneandone.co.uk" - I'm not sure where you are from but I'd advise checking the SMTP settings of the provider.

Check this link to see if it solves your problem at all..

I'm actually considering just editing PunBB to make a CMS - I can't see it being too hard..

I think you mean the "recent discussions".

Here is the thread with the script for you:

If the problem is framed based redirection, isn't there some easy way of automatically breaking out of the frame and forcing the site to reload at its true location. Of course you would then get the sites real address showing up rather than the domain.

Not easy for everyone smile I see what you mean but not sure how to do it

I bought this doman a while and haven't made much use of it yet - but I've uploaded the forums to some crappy Lycos webspace to "practice" the admin of PunBB.

You can either go to here or here, it makes no difference.

Basically I wanted to show my own style sheet that I have made. I also bought www.TheRasmus.co.uk, a band I like, and so the CSS file has been altered to make the forums look similar to the official www.therasmus.com website.

Also running the very cool PunPoll! If you go to therasmus.com you can see what I was trying to achieve with the style sheet.

And I apologise for the annoying Lycos/Tripod advert invasion smile

Cactuz has quite a lot of downtime

Eventually got it installed (nice long install guide:)) and it works perfectly. Cheers!

Ah yeh, forgot I already tried to install 1.01. No wonder theres duplicated columns big_smile

Just tried to install v1.1, but when installing via install_mod.php, this error came up:

An error was encountered
File: <snip>/install_mod.php
Line: 20

PunBB reported: Unable to add column polls to table options
Database reported: Duplicate column name 'polls' (Errno: 1060)

In fact those are the best PunBB forums I've seen yet, well done

Seconded smile

Well no, because "TABLE.punplain { background-color: #AAAF88 }" didn't exist in the CSS I was editing (which was "sulfur"

Oh - I just sorted it. In the skinning guide it said that "Whitespace = TABLE.punplain", which didn't have a background colour property in the CSS. So I wrote one in and that caused the colouring smile

Might be something to add as a caution note to the Skinning Guide

I changed the CSS file for both TR.puncon* and TD.puncon.

I can't remember changing anything in viewtopic.php that would have done this.

I know that when you post, the colours alternate between TR.puncon1 and TR.puncon2 - however when I change one of these, its only the area around the text that changes.

Its as if there is a frame that the poster details (seen on the left - Username, Title, Posts, Registered, IP), and actual posted text and the "Website/Email" links.

I've had a look at vewtopic.php and there doesn't seem to be any reference to this colour change. Hoepfully the screenshot will help explain:

http://www.apsk07.dsl.pipex.com/punhelp.JPG

I want the pointed-to colours, to be the same as the surrounding areas.

Any ideas?
