It's for 1.3xx.  You need to upgrade if you want the extension system.

Instructions how to do so.

Thanks so much! I appreciate it!

Sorry for the ignorance here. I have downloaded the extension. I'm running 1.216. What do I put where to install it?  Many thanks!!!

Be sure to backup db...

Excellent! Thanks so much!

I know the answer to my request must be in the forums somewhere but I haven't been able to find it.

I'd like to upgrade from version 1.2.16 to the latest version but I'm not sure how to go about it. Do I need to upgrade every version until I get to 1.3.2?

I've made minor changes to three files:  main.tpl, register.php and search.php

I'm a newbie to this. Is there an relatively simple way to do this?

Many thanks!

I've searched for information about this but can not find it. My apologies if this is request is in the wrong place.

I would like to add an auction and classified add section for members of my forum to use within a focused niche. Preferably something where I would be paid through PayPal. Is there a script available that anyone would recommend?

I've researched a number of the many scripts available online but there is a wide price range and I'm not sure which would be best for my purposes. My forum has about 1100 members so the traffic would be relatively light.

Many thanks!

Many thanks Tieguy!

I'm receiving more posts than I would like in the buy/sell forum of my site. I was wondering if it is possible to allow posts to this buy/sell forum but not allow them to appear in the "recent posts" search. That way buy/sell topics won't overwhelm members when they click on "recent post." The other forums would remain unchanged.

The idea is that if members are interested in buy/sell forum, they could open it manually and search.

Is it possible to do this?

Thanks for any help!

I still haven't been able to figure this out. Would anyone know about this?  Thanks.

you might be better waiting till 1.2 is released properly then making a proper cash, shop and auction mod

I've been searching but haven't found any information about an "auction mod." Does anyone know if this is available?

Many thanks.

Seems like I figured it out. For some reason the "viewtopic.php" file had some bad url's. I re-loaded "viewtopic.php" from my backup (which didn't have the bad url's) after changing line 289. Looks like it's working smoothly.

Thanks for a great mod!

Ken

I installed the mod yesterday and it seems to work except for one issue. There are two dead links above the first post which occurs in every topic. (see photo below)

The "Index" link goes to a "not found" page at this url:

http://www.shakuhachiforum.com/DOCUME%7 … /index.php

The "Forum Category" or in this case "Ji-nashi" link goes to a "not found" page at this url:

I know it's got to be something simple but I can't figure out the flub. Any ideas?

Thanks loads!

Many Thanks. Sorry I missed it. Been reading for an hour now and didn't catch this one.

Will this mod work for PunBB 1.2.16 ?

Thanks!

Thanks so much. Yes, I assume he will be able to sneak through regardless. I think I'll go ahead and ban all of the IP's since they appear to be from a small ISP.

Thanks again.

I am the administrator of a forum. I need to ban someone who has been posing under different user names. There are many IP addresses   associated with his user names. Maybe about 30 or so. I want to make sure it's difficult for him to register again so I'd like to ban all the IP addresses. I understand it's important to be careful when banning multiple IP addresses. I've checked each for mulitple users. The only connection is between the user names I'd like to ban. Does this mean it is safe to ban the addresses without banning someone else unintentionally?

Thanks so much and thanks for a great product!

Success! For anyone else who has this problem, here's how it worked out for me.

I had to move the 9 files in the "upload" folder to the webspace root. Then I moved the remaining 6 folders inside the "upload" folder, one at a time into the root as well. Bingo!! Now I don't need to use the "/upload" addition on my URL to access the Forum.

Thanks for everyones help!

I also notice that along with the 9 files in the "upload" folder, there are also 6 additional folders..starting with "cache" and ending with "style."

Do the contents of these  folders also need to go into the webspace root? If so, should I move them seperately without their folders?

Thanks!

Thanks for the response.

I moved the files in the upload folder to my webspace root, but then I couldn't access the Forum with my Domain name. So, I moved them back. Hmmm..

Started my PunBB Forum yesterday and I love the simple, clean design! The problem is that I can't access my forum via URL without including "/upload" after my Domain name. I'd rather just use the Domain name. I tried moving the files from "upload" into the root folder "forum" in my FTP space. That didn't seem to work. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Also, are there any files that I should delete for security reasons? In other forum software, one is asked to do this after installing. Does this apply to PunBB?

Thanks so much in advance!

Yes. Lower case, in the forum root which is /forum. Also includes the line that defines PUN.

Ok. I created a file, pasted the code into it, uploaded it to the root folder  "/forum" tried to "go to forum index" but now it says, "cofig.php is missing or corrupt." Hmm.. any ideas?

Thanks!!

Thanks! I appreciate it!!

New user here trying to install PunBB. Having trouble finding the config.php file to paste the code into. Do I need to make this file first? If so, how? I can't seem to find it anywhere on my FTP site.   (yes... very green here)

Thanks!
