Hello,

I've seen various topics regarding this in the forums, but I've been searching for 3 days and can't find exactly what I am looking for.

What I would like is to change the registration form so that all of the info that can be found in the profile pages, can be added to the registration page.  I feel that if there was a way to input that information while they were registering they would be more likely to do so.

I don't necessarily need all of this to be required for registration though.  But one problem we are running in to is since there isn't an administrator approval module built-in we have to do it the ghetto way, where when they register they are added to a group that basically doesn't have any permissions, and will have to be manually assigned to a group.  This is something I am willing to work around.  The problem comes when somebody registers but there is no place to enter your real name.  When the admin gets an email telling them somebody has registered, they look at it, but if there is no name filled out, we might not know who it is.

Basically then, in addition to the username, email, password, timezone, and privacy options, I would like it if there is a place where they enter this information:

-messenger information (MSN, AIM, Yahoo, etc)
-location
-website
-signature

And again, the only things that should be *required* for them to fill out being:

-username
-realname
-email
-password
-timezone
-privacy options

Now, obviously this is too hard for me to do, otherwise I would have done it myself, but I'm guessing (and hoping) that it shouldn't be extremely hard to do, since really there isn't any new fields being added to the database.  If I understand and am imagining this correctly, the only difference would be when the info is added to the database right?

If anyone has any insight into this I'd appreciate it.  I hope I can get this forum up and running the way we need it to run so I can donate some money to PunBB!!!

So if I just make these two code changes, it will do what I want, by listing all three forums on the index page, but only allowing them to view the 2 public forums and denying access to the third?  I hope so.  I was under the impression from the above post that it would only work for all-or-none of the forums.

Will this work if I have three different forums, but one of them I want to be private?  I still want people to be able to see the third forum exists, but I don't want them to be able to read any of it unless they have a special status.

Thanks for the reply.  That did in fact fix that problem, but now it messed up the category table.  Everything is scrunched together.

Hello,

First timer here, just heard of PunBB today.

Anyways, I am trying to customize the look to match the site, and I'm coming up with a problem in Firefox.  In IE6 it looks fine.

The page is here: http://www.memoriesonfifth.com/forums/index.php

Basically what it is doing is the box above the topics, that says

My PunBB forum

Unfortunately no one can be told what PunBB is - you have to see it for yourself.

has a HUGE space at the bottom.  But I don't know how to fix this.  If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Chris
