OK. I have moved our forum to another server.
Now, it's http://pedfakulta.php5.cz/forum

I got similar problem as I had before. It doesn't display czech signs +?????ýáíé? correctly. Instead, there's a chaotic mess. I've modified table "search_words" changing varchar to varbinary, i edited file include/dblayer/common_db.php with $db->query("SET NAMES 'cp1250..... nothing helped. Of course I've changed in common.php (lang/czech) lang encoding to windows-1250... also to utf8 - still nothing helps.

I CAN PUT NEW POSTS ON WITH CORRECT DIACRITICS - AND IT IS CORRECTLY DISPLAYED (FROM THIS WHILE). BUT I HAVE A PROBLEM - OLD POSTS ARE NOT DISPLAYED CORRECTLY.

Our academic forum is pretty unreadable (we've got 51 member of academic f., ten of them - senate). I'd like to find anyone who's willing to repair or arrange it. My abilities are limitless and I haven't found any useful advice.

If anybody will be able to assist, i'll pay your price, just send me an offer.

Today I entered a site http://www.dolnilutyne.com/hujer/upload/ where we had our forum. It's an empty page - don't you know whats on?

Nothing else. Before it has pissed itself off, I changed common.php (removing two slashes - DEBUG), then I tried to change it back (add two slashes), but it doesn't help anyway.

Hello Onekiss I'm from Czech Rep. I got similar problem - we have also specific diacritics as Poles have. I found a receipt that should help you find it http://punbb.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=11341 or you may find posts from "coohd" from Taiwan - he helped a lot.

None of you, but I've found an advice from just one - coolhd from Taiwan: I've modified table search_words - changing from varchar to varbinary, then I had to edit file include/dblayer/common_db.php with adding $db->query ("SET NAMES 'cp1250' ") in the last line. Encoding I've changed to cp150_czech... Now we can add new posts with diacritics ?????ýáíé?. Also, old posts are displayed correctly with one exception - the sign '?' is still (old posts) displayed as '?'. But when you enter a new post it is displayed correctly. I'll try to solve this last little problem. Anyway, thanx for all, we've got to help ourselves.

When you upload Czech language, you got always problem: Czech signs in messages inserted are not displayed correctly. We have tried it with more than 10 hosts, always having a problem. Coding windows-1250. May we ask Mr Sejrac of what should be a correct setup (what coding) to display the messages correctly?

You have old info. Despite, over there is "windows-1250" it doesn't works. We have tried almost all. is there any advice for universal coding (displaying all the signs - ?????????ý??ýýáá?)?

URL is the same as it was before. Nothing changed. The thing is that even if nothing changes, with change of IP address, all the diacritics have fallen. White place in PunBB troubleshooting?

Is it possible: there were no internal change, but after provider has changed IP address, we got a problem: all the messages got fault (diacritics was not displayed correctly) and if we try to send a message with diacritics (???????ýáíé?), it is not displayed entirely. Where is a problem?

After our internet connectivity provider (server that hosts our domain) has changed IP addresses. The problem is not only in seeing new address, but also in other things: Sooner, we have installed PunBB, there were no problems at all, until changing IP became. Then, there is a fault in language (Czech signs are not displayed correctly). Can anybody help in that?

I have installed forum at http://bohumin.php5.cz also with CZECH lang. Unfortunately, it doesn't display czech signs correctly. Those are always replace with "?" symbol. I've tried to control all setups. What to do and how to check where the fault is?

you mean administrator of the server? I need to get to know where an error is, first. No concrete, but approx. reason of the error. Then, I'll contact him. the other way is to tell somebody to shoot my trouble (basic error)
