sorted it 
the permissions were wrong for the main forum directory, took me ages to find out though

I seem to be have problems with permissions on the script, but I am not sure what set them at?
this is what I get
A file permissions error has occurred. Please check the permissions on the script and
the directory it is in and try again.is there somewhere that list what they are please
