Bangladesh has been inundating my forum with spam.  I've tried every single anti-spam application here.  Some work - some don't - the ones that do require too much input from me (post approval and such)

I am looking for a way to block / ban an entire geographical region - basically anyone from Bangladesh (Geolocation auto-ban) that attempts to register would be automatically blocked.

Anything like this around?

Well based on the above post - I'm assuming the stop spam function needs tweaking a bit.  smile

That worked! Thanks!

Without knowing what the hell I'm doing, I've been working on my company's website for 3 years now. Again - I know NOTHING of html, css, php or anything. So basically, I find what I like from free templates on the web and cut the functionality and paste into my site using cuteftp. The result has been decent and we like the site - but I know the code is out of control.

Yes, I've tried using HTML Tidy and Page Valet - but they break my pages and render my pages un-viewable.

What would a typical cost be for someone to review the site, fix the coding errors and generally clean everything up? I want it to be cross platform functional and look the same on every browser.

If someone is interested in doing this at a decent price, let me know - the site is

Now, I have anti-right click enabled on the site because one of our competitors was stealing images - there are other ways of looking at the source code, or, if you are interested - PM me and I'll send you a sample of the code to see if you are interested in cleaning things up.

Ok - maybe this has been covered and I just missed it - if so, my apologies.

I am looking for a Spanish language pack (and the instructions for installation) for 1.4.2.
However, I want a unique function that may or may not be covered...

My site  - is a bilingual site with the same information in English as in Spanish.  All a user needs to do is to click on the ENGLISH / ESPANOL links in the upper left of the page to switch the language the site is displayed in.

However, with the forums tab, it can only go directly to the main page of the forum.  Is there a way where Spanish users can access the forum directly in Spanish and English users can access it directly in English?

Its ALIVE!  MUAWUAHAHAHahahahahhaaaaaaaa Its ALIVE!

Thanks!  Works like a champ!

I didn't upgrade.  I uninstalled via admin, then deleted via FTP.  Then uploaded the new version via FTP, and installed via admin.

Edit:  Uninstalled.  Refreshed.  Re-installed - same issue.

/forum/img/m/2/t     that's where it appears to be storing the pictures
However there are also pics in the previous folders above the /t as well....

Edit: I've also taken the liberty of modifying your identity on my forum - custom title and such.  smile

Not even sure how to check that - I'm a bit retarded when it comes to code.

Actually - spoke too soon.
I'm still not able to browse the uploaded photos - when I do, I get this error....

Friggin sweet! Thanks!

Quadric - Awesome and thank you for a great extension.
Now, please tell me how I broke it....

I'm running 1.4.1 on SQlite with the following installed extensions:

Now, everything appears to work fine.  I can select, upload and use an image just like the functionality should be.
However, if I leave that thread and go to another or back to that thread - start to post another reply or thread and click on BROWSE IMAGES - I get this:

What did I do to break your extension?

I'd like to see a feature that adds a data field for the reason someone was banned from the forum.
Currently, if a user clicks on the user list - all the see is the fact that someone was banned.  To prevent others from doing the things that got members banned, I think it would be a good idea to show a note stating why that user was banned.

great extension;
could be useful to add the toggle function for active topics extension (on front page) aswell...

and maybe check if the cookie is domain limited ; I surfed (first time ever) on - and had all the forum there "closed". Because I closed mines on my own forums ?

Not sure but I collapsed all the forums except for the 1st topic when I was in the admin control.  Could that have caused it set it as such for any other visitor?

Not bad.
I may be interested in doing something like this. Would you share how you did ?

Actually the search bar was extremely easy - and no modding was needed.
Because the announcement section doesn't parse text, you can embed normal html there.
All I did was cut the code for the AdSense Search feature from my AdSense account and pasted it into the announcement bar. I also added the direct code for the "add this" buttons to finish it off.

<form action="" id="cse-search-box" target="_blank">
    <input type="hidden" name="cx" value="partner-pub-3206477432714123:9088038815" />
    <input type="hidden" name="ie" value="UTF-8" />
    <input type="text" name="q" size="55" />
    <input type="submit" name="sa" value="Search" />

<script type="text/javascript" src=";lang=en"></script>

<!-- AddThis Button BEGIN -->
<center><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style" >
<a class="addthis_button_facebook_like" fb:like:layout="button_count"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_tweet"></a>
<a class="addthis_button_google_plusone" g:plusone:size="medium"></a>
<a class="addthis_counter addthis_pill_style"></a>
<script type="text/javascript" src=""></script></center>
<!-- AddThis Button END -->

Hope that helps.

Intelifuel Alternative Energy Forums

This is 1.4.1 on SQLite.  I don't have any theme customized for the forum yet as I am still trying to grow my user base.  (If anyone wants to develop an alternative energy theme - that would be spectacular.  As you can see, I've integrated google's AdSense in the banner on the header and Google's custom search in the announcement section.

I am VERY new to this and haven't even attempted to create a theme for this yet.  I'm just concentrating on getting an effective forum together first, a user base second, then I'll work on the theme.

Awesome! Thank you very much.

Not sure if it has been posted before, but I'd REALLY like to see a "collapse topic" mod for 1.4.1

My forum, by necessity, has two very large topics.  One has 50 forums under it, and the other has over 250 forums under it.  To scroll to the bottom of the forum is a giant pain in the ass. I'd love it if this mod would have the ability to set the default setting to "collapsed" and be designed in such as way that the typical forum user KNOWS that the topics are collapsed and KNOWS how to expand the topics without being confused.
