Captcha on login ca prevent on bot forms attacks.
Look @ MySpace, they use a login captcha for exemple.

I'm actually testing the new beta of PunBB and it working good !
I really love that new urls ! 
But I think there's something bad in topics.
We have one url for the topic : http://beta.ziik.fr/topic1-Test-post.html
But we have a duplicate content with that : http://beta.ziik.fr/post1.html#p1
It would be better using the first one (topic1-Test-post.html) with the anchor (topic1-Test-post.html#1).
We generaly remove special characters in URLs, this is not really great : http://beta.ziik.fr/topic2-Decouverte-P … er....html 
It's good to make URLs with lowercase.
I saw a little thing strange too for RSS/ATOM feeds, we have that url : http://beta.ziik.fr/topic1-rss.html
It would be better like this I think : http://beta.ziik.fr/topic1-rss.xml
Less important, profiles URLs could be bette than : http://beta.ziik.fr/user2.html
We may use the username : http://beta.ziik.fr/user2-audiofeeline.html (for example)
I can also report that install working well & I had no problems !

i'm testing 1.3 version & i saw a little bug with specials carateres.
I created a forum called "Général" & URL is like that : htp://www.hghhhf.hgf/forum/forum1-Gn%A9nn%A9ral.html
We have to remove special carateres & replace them...
In this case for example, it would great to have htp://www.hghhhf.hgf/forum/forum1-General.html

you can do url rewriting without the ID. SPIP (http://www.spip.net) can do that. Example here : http://www.spip-contrib.net/Additional- … on-buttons

.html is finaly useless like in your Spip example...
ID is in the case of two same titled topics...
Google understand links like this :

Using keywords in url is the best way to make rewritting.

This important for a good referencement as Url Rewriting, this is an optimisation... 
I know it's a detail but things like that make the difference, PunnBB is different!

Just edit the templates...
METAS are very importants (indispensables), it will be a great idea to include this and PunnBB will be PERFECT!
Including RSS in the meta is important too, like on my forum...

URL Rewriting could be a very good option in admin...
Adding meta tags editor in admin will be insdipensable!
This is an important request for the future evolution of Punbb, what do you think about that?
