In my opinoin only valid characters for a domain name are letters, numbers and a hyphen "-". Other special characters like the underscore "_" or an exclamation mark "!" are NOT permitted.

You Just Follow these some steps:
Step 1. First make sure that all your system packages are up-to-date by running these following apt-get commands in the terminal.
Step 2. Install LAMP server.
Step 3. Install PunBB. Sukhbir Singh Badal
Step 4. Configuring MySQL.
Step 5. Configuring Apache web server for PunBB.
Step 6. Accessing PunBB.

punbb much better than phpbb because phpbb been using it for years on and off, haven’t used it in 2 or 3 years. Always seems to get hacked.. usually a hit by some russian porn ad ring but punbb better releases in the svn.
