Topic: User Group Problem (3 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 troubleshooting)
Hey I am trying to create a new User group for my forum, but i want them to have the basic moderator access. The only way i can do that is by changing the moderator thing to what I want it to be called as it only lets me base new user groups on "members" and not the admin and moderator forums.
I dont want them to be recognised as moderators, nor the moderators recognised as DJ's but the DJ's need to have basic mod functions so they can see the hidden forums and make updates accordingly.
Is there anyway to do this or am i going to have to just give all the DJ's a Mod/Admin account and change there specific user level name on the forum?

Right well the forum isn't linking back to the otherone anymore which is good. I still cant get my db uploaded so I am going to try and get the support team at host gator to upload my old one, which should restore everything else...
but.. i am sure u can see a big difference between: www.pixelpopulace.com/nexus and www.nexusradio.co.uk
for one there are errors on the nexus radio one for no reason. I wanted a news page that had nothing but the news displayed on the frontpage so i edited it the best i could, and voila.. the pixel p one works (the copywrite and all that jazz is still on the actual forum, just the news page is supposed to be just news) but there its saying i cannot modify the headers on the new forum for some reason.
All I want is the news entries from the forum displayed on the frontpage so that its the first thing people will see before browsing round anything else. It saves me having to write both a news html page and a news post in the forum. I dont want top n bottom bars, i dont want anything other than the news post, with avatar date and time.
the news page is exactly the same as the old one.. i dunno whats gone wrong. any ideas?

Re: Base Url Changing itself to something else (6 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 troubleshooting)
The copywrite is there, just not on the news page, as the news page is not technically part of the forum.
At the bottom of the forum its all there, but the news page i want to be just the news, i dont even want the bars at the top and the bottom but i cant remove them without getting errors so i just got rid of the forum title and the shit at the bottom. Check the forum tho, u can see the copywrite is there.
Yeah the db username changed kinda. My new server puts sleeve_ in front of the usernames annoyingly. But i cant even upload it to the new server. So i am just gonna have to do everything all over again.. pisses me off cos I did it on free space so i wouldn't have to waste time when i bought the actual server and now its all screwed up.
cache_config.php.. no i didn't delete it.. I shall delete it and reinstall now and tell ya if that sorted it. TY.

Topic: Base Url Changing itself to something else (6 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 troubleshooting)
Hey, I origionally started work on a forum using some webspace a friend lent me.
I downloaded everything, even exported the db, and uploaded it to the new site: www.nexusradio.co.uk - but the database wouldn't upload to the new one so i dont know what I am supposed to do about that.
I figured, screw it, I'll just reinstall it, so i deleted the config, installed it properly using the right base url: http://www.nexusradio.co.uk/fourm but when i go into admin options it has changed to http://www.pixelpopulace.com/nexus/forum, when i try to change it back i get a badrefferer and told its probably because the base url is wrong.. well it is wrong, i dont know why it keeps changing to that one every time i install it.
Any ideas?

ah right so after hours of trying i find i shoulda read the 3rd page... it doesn't work for 1.2 yet lol.
All i wanted was like 3 posts from the new section of my forum to be displayed on the front page... man php is so long. I cant imagine how hard the rest of my site is gonna be to build when i have had so much forum trouble already, and not just with this.

Re: Login with IE (8 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 troubleshooting)
also when i try to edit anything with the admin account on firefox i get this message:
Bad HTTP_REFERER. You were referred to this page from an unauthorized source. If the problem persists please make sure that 'Base URL' is correctly set in Admin/Options and that you are visiting the forum by navigating to that URL. More information regarding the referrer check can be found in the PunBB documentation.
the base url is correct...
I have sorted the problem tho by editing my firewall settings... so sorry for the extra post... but i still need help on the ie thing

Re: Login with IE (8 replies, posted in PunBB 1.2 troubleshooting)
Cleared my cookies, taken the // off and still i cant log in using IE.. firefox works fine, but i hate firefox and most people use IE as default anyway so it would be better for me to have it IE compatible.
Any ideas?
