I tried to install the whole thing back again, and removed that coma in step 11, and posting is still having a bug.
How come post.php had some tremendous changes, while english/post.php had just that little? Maybe there is a contradiction between the two?
PS: Those last tips of yours kind of sound like Chinese to me
. (Unless there will be some readme file and detailed instructions, I am not sure I can make it!)
++ Just noticed. Something went wrong with posting. When I click on post a reply, I get a blank page. ++
Edit: I uninstalled everything, and then installed the mod back, and I get the same problem again with posting.
Does that have anything to do with me pasting what's in "step 11" at the end of lang/[Lang]/post.php ?
Edit: 3rd try! Not working

plugin is a file you upload to the plugin folder and are reachable from the admin CP
Hmm..That's technically something I got to learn from here. But are there plugins that have the same functions as the mods? Or some things can't be but mods, and others can easily be used as plugins?
What's the main difference between the two?
Is there a link I missed to check that has a list of all the available plugins there are?

I wanted to ask the same question, but I thought that maybe they got a spam fighter in here as well, so these phrases won't make it to be posted.
Most of the spam I had before was about many urls, so at this first stage I limited the url number per post.
No comments from me
.
Just installed it successfully, it's all clear. It will have effects for sure
.
Is there a way to prevent bot registering in forums at the first place? To stop the cause before curing the effects.
Hello.
I just uploaded MovePost 1.2.
Now I wanted to test it. I wanted to move a post in an existing topic to a new topic. So I entered a new title. But it said "bac choice". Should I be giving a "Enter the destination topic ID" although a new topic will be created for the post to move?
Besides, how do I know the topic ID? I can know the existing topic's ID from the browser's barre, but how do I define an ID for a topic to be created?
EDIT: I should click on "submit" right after entering a new title. I thought I had to fill in the other things too
.
My bad. Thanks for the mod!
I think that you're officially not following
.
I gave you the link yesterday, www.speakmoroccan.com/forum
Anyways, I just figured out that I have to go to the administration panel in my forum and install the plugins :$
And it WORKS!
Thank you Strofanto for your patience and for always being here to reply
.
And thanks to Vin, the mod's creator.
And to everyone, this makes me happy now! Yippie!

I did that, but still no smilies nor toolbar appeard when I want to reply to a topic.
Strofanto wrote:Ok then, I assure you I'm not drunk.
Try with <?php include PUN_ROOT.'include/puntoolbar.php'; ?> and see if the toolbar is included. Make sure the toolbar is in the include subfolder.
Oh, I didn't say you were!
Include has cache_puntoolbar.php, it's lang/eng that has puntoolbar.php
Changed require by include, no change
.
Edit:
I am reading this: http://www.punbb.fr/forums/viewtopic.ph … 52&p=9
Maybe I'll find some answers.
Oh, I think that you're mixing up things a little bit
. There IS a puntoolbar.php, what's missing is a concrete result of the mod: a toolbar!
I am not sure I can bother vin
. It would be great if he passes by here by chance ^^.
As I said earlier, I did this time as it was said in the French one. There is no bug, but there is no toolbar! And no smilies list to choose from, but as for this I am still trying to figure out what to do to the plugin.
Strofanto wrote:change
<?php require PUN_ROOT.'include/puntoolbar.php'; ?>
to
<?php include PUN_ROOT.'include/puntoolbar.php'; ?>
Will this make my puntoolbar appear for real and be functional?
When I reply to any message, there are no smilies, so I am searching around about how to add them.
Also, the puntoolbar thingie isn't apparent anywhere!
I'll keep looking.
Edit: I have a headache because of this. It took me too long, and no concrete results. (I know, it must be all me after all, they didn't teach us php at school
)
I'll have to read pages and pages of old threads in the punbb French forum as well to try to figure out what is going wrong
.
Thanks everyone for your time.
I won't be away for long.
Strofanto wrote:The AP_puntoolbar.php file should be to edit the various options.
huh?
Mod installed following the instructions. But no change in the forum, but at least there is no bug!
Anything I should do to the plugin? AP_Puntoolbar.php?
Strofanto wrote:Didn't you find a puntoolbar.php file in the mod you downloaded?
Oops, ther is! In the English folder. And uploaded to the English folder.
Sorry, this made me dizzy and loose concentration.
vin100 wrote:ok is there a problem with the read_me.txt (en) ; instructions are for PunToolBar 1.3 I've forget to update it with the 1.4 release
So was it about the cache_puntoolbar.php?
vin100 wrote:if you read French use the lisez_moi.txt file, if not please wait the 1.4.1 I have little things to do on it
I do speak French, and I didn't have a look in that, taking for granted that it was the same thing in both.
Will you change the read-me file? Or the whole mod?
EDIT: Now the differences between the French and English readme files makes sense to me.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Strofanto wrote:Is puntoolbar.php in your ./forum/include folder? Can we have a link to your forums?
It was there, just as stated in the readme file. For the first time, I had no trouble understanding what was asked to be done, and I did that exactly, but eh..didn't work. I cleaned up all the mess.
Now here is my forum: www.speakmoroccan.com/forum that I am trying to make better
.
O_O Something went wrong!
Not sure what happened to "viewtopic"! My topics are showing plain text now!
Arg..I'll have to get the backup running back in the forum, and then do it all over again next time
.
EDIT:
This is what's wrong:
Step 18, replace in view_topic with this:
<label><textarea name="req_message" id="req_message" rows="7" cols="75" tabindex="1"></textarea></label>
<?php require PUN_ROOT.'include/puntoolbar.php'; ?>
Where is the include folder of puntoolbar has cache_puntoolbar.php, not puntoolbar.php.
So now the topics can be viewed just fine, BUT...the posting is messed up! It's a white interface, and no post message button! I gotta check the code of post.php too then
yemgi wrote:Once you have installed the Smilies Manager, you will have to add smilies as there are none by default
There are some smilies in the smilies folder.
But if I add them, how to configure the..symbols, like
for a the smiling smiley, and
for wink, etc
I am done now.
For finishing the installation you must go on the plugin
so that the fields of configuration are installed
and to configure the punToolBar.
What plugin?
The detail about CHMOD is something I figured out thanks to all the help I am getting from here. I did it yesterday with the avatars forum!
I was just wondering what was that thing about having to upload smilies!
I'll get back with more questions when this server of mine works, it seems to be busy now.
That's what I did. I checked and I remember taht in a try before, I mixed up the lang/eng/help.php with help.php, and now they were similar. I replaced it back now.
The server is busy now, so didn't get to go through the rest yet.
When you're done go to the admin panel and check the smilies plugin. Should be simple enough.
What was that?
It says in the readme file:
You must now go to the plugin to add your smilies.
Perhaps, to be abble to upload image, you'll have to
CHMOD img/smilies/ directory.
You can custom the upload limits (size, width and height)
by editing AP_Smilies.php ; see the top of the file.
Anything crucial and specific before going on with puntoolbar itself?
Strofanto wrote:Oops, I utterly missed that one.
I've read the readme.txt file, sounds very simple. Upload everything to your forum, then run the install_mod_en.php file and then delete it. Make the changes to the parser.php script (which you can find in the include subfolder) and make the changes in the help.php file too (note: not the language file, the main help.php file in the forum root). When you're done go to the admin panel and check the smilies plugin. Should be simple enough.
Hum..I actually have done all that, and arrived to the help.php file part, and then I couldn't find the line it's asked to change.
I gotta find if there was any original help.php file.
Oh, I could have sent it you if you wanted it.
What I am working with first is the smiliesmanager. It's a first step before moving to puntoolbar!
I'm still stuck in the middle! Waiting for someone to figure out what is going wrong with my help.php
Thanks :-).
