how can i put someting to the right on my forum? i dont know using html or sometihng like that? thare was<div id="right"> or sometihng like that.. please answer me???

hello
i have mypunbb forum about a year but i have still very big problems about it..
first of all i can not install or upload anything.. e.g. :style ,easy smile maker, calender, or karma bla bla.. i download from here in a zip folder but i don't know what will i do whit them? i have very very little idea about codding or something like that.. i wanna copy and paste something inside the main.tpl but cant 
if i can solve this problem i can do everytihn i guess 
please help me ( for starter forum user please )
