Big thanks to Smartys for helping with this. It's working now
My $40 donation is in the pipeline

Hi Smartys.
I wonder.... I tried your code but nothing changed at all.
Would you be willing to edit my files directly if I give you the cpanel user/pass to my hosting account?
And once its working I'll donate to the punbb option?
My users will love this,  know they will

Cheers
Mark

Thanks. The topic is here:

Somebody almost got it working (wasn't it you?) but not quite.
I'll donate £20 to punbb if someone can get it working
I know that's not much but that's all I got
cheers

I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this.
But I'd really love to make the "online now" list show people's avatars instead of (or as well as) their names.
Can anyone figure out how to do this?
I could pay somebody a bit of cash (paypal) if they could make this work.

cheers

Hello
Sorry to bother you good people but I've reached a dead end.
Installation went through successfully, apparently but here is what I'm left with:
http://www.turksheadfc.com/forum/index.php

I'm pretty sure all the database user/pass etc was entered correctly (otherwise it wouldn't have let me install anything right?). And I've uploaded the config.php file to the forum root sucessfully. Do I need to chmod that file or anything?

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated
cheers
Mark

that fixed it. thanks a lot

I'm trying to edit the settings for the "members" group but when I press "save" I get the following error message.

An error was encountered
Error: Unable to write quickjump cache file to cache directory. Please make sure PHP has write access to the directory 'cache'.

Any ideas? I've checked that the cache folder is chmod'd to 777
thanks

I'd like some code that lets me display the avatars of everyone who is currently online (perhaps in the footer of the main index page or wherever I choose to place the code). Is this even possible? I'm guessing its possible but I don't have the skills to make it happen. Any ideas?

I don't like clickable headers. I need a bit of white space on the page so I can just click to deselect text or to make the page active or just so I can relax and not have horrid mouseover actions happening all the time

BINGO!!
Gmail sent it to spam.

sorry to have trouble you.
Thanks again for providing such a cool forum.
I love how fast it is to load and how clean it looks.

hi
yes I enabled that but no email got sent and the account in question is still inactive
Any other suggestions please?
thanks

Hello
I just installed this BRILLIANT forum. I've been wanting one like this for around 8 years now and I think I've finally found it - no images, no bloat, no frustration. I can breathe easily.

However, I'm trying to register a standard (non-admin) username for myself but when I registered I didn't receive an email so that I could activate the account. It's been about 15 minutes so far.

I left the SMTP settings blank so that it would use the local mail server automatically but it doesn't seem to have worked.

Any ideas about what I should try?
I can't find any SMTP references in my host's CPANEL section.

Thanks
Mark
