If I click the above link (why can you not edit posts on this forum?) I get this:
I just uninstalled 1.2.0 and installed 1.2.1. I am still getting hanging topics.
But I think there is a bug there. Because when I tried to allow moderators to approve new posts, the link in forum header didn't appear.
Yeah, same on my end.
As far as how to recreate the "hanging" unapproved topics, I'm not really sure. Here's a screen shot of what's on my screen.
I can't figure out a way to get rid of them other than uninstall and reinstall the extension. Which works, but is probably not ideal.
What is the difference between the top two?
Also, I keep having a lot of posts just sort of "hang."
When I click them, it takes me to a screen that says "No unapproved posts since your last visit."
I can't seem to find a way to get rid of them other than uninstalling and reinstalling the extension.
Can you make it so Moderator's can approve or disapprove posts?
Cool extension.
God I'm stupid, it's right there. Sorry guys.
Can you update extensions automatically from within PunBB? Like when a new version comes out. Or do you have to do it manually?
I'm talking about the Keydog post above my post. He points to an option that I believe he means "should" be there in a future version but isn't in this version.
I get this warning when I go to install this:
"This extension has not been explicitly tested on your PunBB version and might therefore not be compatible with your current setup."
I'm running PunBB 1.3.4
Sorry, should have posted a question.
Is this occurring for anyone else? Is this extension safe to install or could it possibly mess things up irreversibility?

There's no Gallery Function for PunBB 1.3??? Wow. How's that possible.
What this signifies to me is that PunBB needs to become more popular to attract more developers. It's a chicken and egg sort of problem. Maybe PHPbb has the market cornered for Free, Open-Source Forum.
Maybe we need a name change. SlimBB or something that has a feature in the product name. I love this software, but obviously with more people using the software the better. Maybe donations for code improvements.
Does FluxBB have a Gallery feature?
Whatever, I still love PunBB 1.3
Are there any other possible solutions for Trolls that might be an extension on here? I'll check and see if I can find anything. Otherwise, I'm going to have to just turn Registrations back on and hope he gives me some peace while I find a solution.
I see is this:
Is there some way to turn on "Enable New Posts Approval" within that window?
[edited quote away - space]
Thing is I WANT new members posting. I want them to get involved.
But when this guy comes in, he creates a mess and everyone WHINES & BITCHES.
No, they don't program and they have no idea what it would take to make this go away.
And they come up with ideas like "Create a custom coded solution..." without thinking down the line of "I don't have a clue how to do that."
Anyway, if there's no fix, what can you do.
But yes, I have a troll and he makes us look like a bitch because everytime we get rid of him he comes back.
Also, sorry that the topic title is asinine. I'd edit it if I could. It's been a long day.
Hey,
I've installed Pun Approval.
Two errors I see.
1. Only the Forum Admin seems to be able to approve posts
2. Topics in the Approval screen seem to 'hang' and there's no way to just delete them or approve them or whatever.
I have a spam user that comes in every month or so and just BLANKETS the forum with junk and harasses everybody.
I ban him.
Then he registers on a new IP and then he does it all over again.
Of course everyone is saying "We just have to get rid of him, DO IT!!"
So I'm looking for a solution. I need something where new users posts have to be approved or where a new user can only post 2 or 3 posts a day in the first few days or anything that will make this one user think "blah, it's just too much trouble to cause trouble."
Thanks for any advice.
k
Has no one had this problem other than me?

This is the information from the old forum before the upgrade and the post truncation had the following info. I've reinstalled it on a new domain so I have all the old posts up there so I could do a MISERABLE copy/paste job, but I'd rather upgrade from 1.2 to 1.3.4 successfully and correctly.
