charing encrypted passwords with perl code

Hi people

I just installed pun on my site, now I need to integrate it before I turn it loose.

My site is written with perl, and I have a bunch of existing users with passwords encrypted using Basic Auth (on a linux box). The passwords were actually encrypted with perls Apache::Htaccess module.

Is it possible to hack punbb to use the same password encryption? If so, I could just move my members records into punbb, and they should be able to use them for the bb and the main site, right?

All I'd have to do them is remove redundant functions from one of the two sides.
