Topic: Installation troubles- not connecting to the database
I've done this once before so I must have had some stroke of dumb luck that time, but I recently wiped my forum directory and re-installed the latest version of punbb. Or at least I'm trying to. I upload everything, set up the MYSql database and a valid user with a username/password combo, and when I slap all the information into install.php I get this:
An error occured on line 58 in file /home/khalkar/public_html/forum/include/dblayer/mysql.php.
PunBB reported: Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Access denied for user 'khalkar_pajari'@'server1.499angels.net' (using password: YES)
I have absoloutely no idea why I'm being denied access, since the database and user are flawlessly set up and worked like a charm for about six months before this. I'm pretty much at my wit's end with this bullshit, any help would be much appreciated.
check the config file, and verify
