Topic: Login script or login user may cause DDOS ..

i'm a  large users group punbb user.
when i disable the members to read the board, then the forum getting high speed,
but when i enable the members to read the board,on acp, then the forum getting so slow,,even can not open in browser,

i think may be the script have some bug then someone can using it to DDOS the server.

I'm confused, of course your forum is going to be slower when people are actively using it tongue
And as for a DDOS, I doubt it: try figuring out what scripts are slowing down your forum

Re: Login script or login user may cause DDOS ..

and i'm not sure what script do that,

but i just do a test for the reality of my words

i'm changing the domain to a new server,
then there will be no normal DDOS ,
so i opened the member read forum and closed the member read,

then first it slows ,when i closed it ,it speed up.

why just a function of user activate login cause so big change??!

it's real a problem

Re: Login script or login user may cause DDOS ..

Why is it slower when PunBB has to load topics as opposed to just giving you a "You can't read this" error? Fewer queries perhaps
This isn't a bug, this is a problem with your setup. We can't identify the problem without more information (like, is MySQL causing the problem? If so, which query?)

I'll trust Smartys. Moved to troubleshooting.
