Topic: Private forums?

Hi, I have a small private forum setup with a .htaccess password. I want to remove the htaccess and change this setup so that users will have to login to the forum before they can see the forum. Now they just enter a general pass and they can view the forum, the downside of that is when I remove a member he or she can still view the forums unless I change the general (.htaccess) password which is a hassle because everyone then has to be notified of this.

Is there a solution for this?

Set the guest group as unable to read the forum. Then disable registration: you can add users using the user management plugin. Alternately, enable registration but set the default group for new users as unable to read the forum. Then, manually approve users by putting them in the "real" members group, which allows them to read the board.

Is there a way to allow members to be able to see a forum exists, but not enter it ?
I have a forum set to private, and have manually allowed members of my "private" group to access it.

I wish for guests and members to see the forum exists, but not enter it.

Where do I get this plugin? I did a search for it but couldn't find it.
