Just as my forum started operating again and i try to make changes under admin options and edit temp. I got error messages like-"Error: Unable to write configuration cache file to cache directory. Please make sure PHP has write access to the directory 'cache'." and "could not open template contact administrator". Any ideas.
yes, chmod your cache foler to 777

open your ftp program* and navigate to the forum's root directory, right click the cache folder and goto properties then set the permissions accordingly.
*this all depends on your ftp app.
never really used an ftp program, since it was hosted by punbb, and it was straight out operable.
what do you mean hosted by PunBB? do you mean PunBB-Hosting? if so you'll have to take it up at his support forums.
