Topic: using !important

Can someone tell me why it is !important does not work for me. I am using FF and IE7 but IE only responds to the line that uses the !important rule. I know I am using it right because I've actually used it before. What could be causing it not to work. Thanks for any suggestions.

Post the code it might help. No reason why it shouldnt work.

Well, the code is simple really: 

margin-top: 5px !important; margin-top: 7px;
