Is there a way to have a private forum that is only open to a certain list of users, and to have the ability to have users belong to multiple private forums?

The way to do this is make a user group with access to the forum and then assign members you wish to that user group.

The multigroup mod for 1.2 has been updated and works well. If someone migrated it for use with 1.3 it might be helpful.

That seems impossible. The simple fact is that 1.3 doesn't allow for users to belong to multiple groups.

Nor did 1.2 Until you modify it. It can be done. Just you have to spend time on looking at how the old modification to 1.2 works then do the same, for 1.3.

Are you referring to the multigroup mod?
I must say, the mod system for punbb absolutely sucks. Having to go to a bunch of lines and replace code is unacceptable for a mature open source project.
